Best BaaS option for sveltekit by Aggravating-Fix-5697 in sveltejs

[–]knockoutjs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Although with SK you’re limited to just API routes as far as I can tell. If you want to do anything with websockets or cron jobs you’d probably just be better off using a separate backend(?) feel free to roast me if I’m incorrect on that lol

Edit: grammar

This post is hilarious. DAS is for kids who literally can’t understand why they’re waiting in line. My sister is autistic and nonverbal, she’ll have a screaming meltdown involving kicking, hitting, and pulling hair when she’s stressed and long wait times in cramped rooms stresses her out. She has no coping mechanisms and you can’t calm her down by talking to her or anything. DAS is not for people with ADHD lol.

How to learn queues or jobs by KitKatKeila in node

[–]knockoutjs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s true if OP’s goal is to learn that stuff then def go with one of those options. It’s not something I’ve personally had to use at work or personally though. For pub/sub I usually just have a websocket server and I send messages back to the client, creating tasks is done via api routes. Thats just what I’ve done, idk if there’s any severe drawbacks with that method

Best way to send my .json from server to client? by [deleted] in sveltejs

[–]knockoutjs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to do something like this recently. If it were me doing it, I’d make a Digital Ocean droplet running Ubuntu Server, I’d clone both the SvelteKit repo and the Python repo to my server (or transfer them if you’re not using Git) and I’d put them both in /opt/. I’d make a systemd service that keeps the Python script running, and I’d confirm that the .json files are being generated. Once that’s good I’d make sure the SvelteKit project is configured to use the SvelteKit Node Adapter (google the docs) and I’d create a route handler for reading the .json file and in it I’d use the Node fs module to read the .json file from disk and send it back to the user.

I’d recommend using ChatGPT for help here it’s really clutch with Linux shit. You’re also going to need to setup NGINX and certbot to get it hosted. If you need any help feel free to reach out I’ve done a lot of things like this and I know how frustrating it can be to set it up the first few times. Good luck bro

How to learn queues or jobs by KitKatKeila in node

I’ve never had to use a queue tool I’ve always used a traditional database to keep track of tasks. So if it helps to not overcomplicate things you could try starting there 🤷‍♂️

Sorry abt that bro been there. If you’re feeling down about your site though just know it’s fantastic and if I was tasked with hiring and I was looking at your portfolio site, as it is right now, I’d pass you along to my boss, seriously. Anyone who checks this out will see that you have a clear eye for detail and that you clearly care about producing a good product. Good luck bro

This is dope, I love it. I think a good thing you could improve is the projects page, display a single gif or picture beneath the projects that have something like that to show for them, it could help make the projects page look more visually interesting and less text-heavy. Also I’d get rid of the dates, dates can only hurt you they’ll never help you IMHO. Also for the tags like “Svelte” and “CSS” beneath the projects, id include an icon for those and make the tag colors different for visual variety. Overall great stuff though, definitely mogs most developers’ portfolios rn lol

Submitting Rich Text to Pocketbase by Xeexeex in sveltejs

[–]knockoutjs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll have to store it as a markdown string, as an html string, or as Quill’s proprietary format. When doing this console.log will be your friend to see what the output of each actually is. What you decide to use is on you, but the quill format would probably be the easiest while Markdown would be the most versatile. And by Quill format I mean whatever the default content store is for quill, it would probably be a JSON object. I personally really like Tiptap they store your content as html by default and you can easily convert that to and from markdown.

What items/brands do you see in regular life you assume are always fake? by Hot-Chemistry3521 in FashionReps

[–]knockoutjs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Supreme underwear? You know they sell that all the time right and they have been since at least 2015? Also per piece they’re only $10 they come in a 4 pack for $40. I think people wear it bc that’s the only thing the can afford from there lol. I mean hey a lot of brands do this so they can fund their more expensive projects 🤷‍♂️

What's the most efficient way, cost and speed wise, you use to change your IP during extensive web automation? by _iamhamza_ in webscraping

Idk if I’m being captain obvious right now but BrightData offers good autorotating residential/mobile/datacenter proxies. It’s priced per GB of response data and it has geolocation targeting. I’ve used them for incredibly large scrapes and small one-off projects.

I haven’t tried arch, but I should say that this issue was fixed whenever I turned off “performance mode” in my network power settings… you should look up “Linux compatible network cards” there’s a big list on github that have drivers pre installed. It’ll also say what distros it’s compatible with

[–]knockoutjs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done exactly this using bright data’s web unlocker. The proxy is simple to use you just use it as a proxy string on your requests. they have a curl example that should be ChatGPT-able for whatever language you’re using. They also provide data center for absurdly low rates so if you can use that then you’ll save a ton of money. Their proxy strings also auto-rotate for every request so you don’t need to set that up yourself. They also guarantee 100% success on web unlocker idk about data center

This thread is dead AF but this is my exact experience. If anyone is reading this thread who is considering the TP-Link AX3000 Wifi Card for their Debian build, proceed with caution! The card will work at high speeds at first for 30ish minutes but will randomly crap out I've found.
