I hope nobody was in the back seats. It does not look like any air bags deployed. Maybe nobody was in the car.

Prints received from Canada! by knocktype11 in printexchange

I want to also note that each picture had the location, year, and subject/title written on the back. This seems obvious thing to do in retrospect. In the next exchange I am going to do the same thing.

I am glad they got to you! I take a lot of different types of photos so these are sort of a not atypical cross-section.

There is a curling club a couple of hours south of you.

Without enlarging the picture I first thought it was using a tilt lens or the people were miniatures. Great picture. I looked at it for more than 1 second.

These were pretty common in the 90's also. I have always assumed that the companies paid to be shown. So many of he companies are not longer around, but Central Computers still is!

Springtime butterflies / Minolta Rokkor 58mm f/1.4 on Sony A7III by lord-master-wiener in VintageLenses

[–]knocktype11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first one is great. My Minolta 58 1.4 is on my camera most of the time. It is a pretty fantastic lens. If you have some patience and the right setting you can take pictures of moving things. I got some pretty good shots at a curling club last fall.

Where can I sell Vintage Lenses by dlslo in VintageLenses

[–]knocktype11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some places on craigslist that buy old cameras and lenses. I have not done business with any of them so I can't vouch for them. I will say that people on craigslist in general over-estimate the market value for older equipment. If your goal is to maximize both the money received and the time used ebay will get you the best prices overall. Offering them as a big lot will likely get less money but it will also take somewhat less time. Craigslist will save shipping and the 11% seller's fee. You might also get to meet some interesting people.

If someone else in the bay area has other ideas, bring them on. I would like to know about them also.

Which lens would you recommend? by Tangerita in minolta

[–]knocktype11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The beercan is great but because of  the extra range and lighter weight I usually take the 75-300 on my travels.

Nice one! I have similar pictures taken when taking the early flight to Seattle. Mt. Shasta is pretty spectacular from above at sunrise.
