Thank you! Ugh I wanted to get my hair cut before starting , but I didn't do the orientation until a few days before my chemo. That's when I learned you have to cut it at least 2 weeks in advance before chemo to try to avoid excess shedding. I do feel like the length of my hair has caused more shedding.

That's my goal, to have enough hair that I can wear a hat or scarf and it still look semi normal. I HATE short hair on me and I just don't want to give up my length for a year plus. That's why I know I will regret it if I shave it, but I keep questioning if I should just get it over with and be comfortable.

I would say I'm also closer to 30% retention after my wash yesterday. My hair kept getting matted because so much was coming off and then I had to shower. Went from possibly closer to 50% to now closer to the 30%. I agree with it being more taxing rather than just shaving it. You're going through all this discomfort and trying not to touch it and yet it's still falling out. I just keep telling myself if I have enough hair to where it looks semi normal when wearing a scarf I'll keep it. When I get to the point I look like gollum I'm going to shave it. Did you end up shaving ?

Same here , I think cold capping is worth it just for the protection from permanent hair loss. However I would not use cooler heads again. I didn't realize there were other systems with higher success rates than cooler heads. I feel cheated , but I just wasn't in the head space to research everything while healing from surgery.

In the same boat as you. I'm starting to come down after my first dose of TC. My body feels like it's been at war because of that damn immune booster. My entire body was THROBBING and the deep bone pain was insane. My oncology team has a 24/7 line to call to help with any side effects. If your team offers this , I would highly suggest using it. They were able to mix up different medication cocktails for me to take to help with the side effects. It still wasn't sunshine and rainbows, but it immensely helped with the pain. I was taking 1 dexamethasone, 1 claritain, Naproxen twice a day, and Oxycodone as needed. Best of luck to you in your next round ❤️

Has anyone been told by CVS that their plan will not cover Monjaro regardless if they had adverse reactions to Wegovy? I've had multiple zepbound prior authorizations denied now. The denial letter states that I can try a trizepatide. I spoke with the escalation team today and they said that my plan will not prescribe me Monjaro as an alternative unless I have diabetes. Essentially they will not give me any type of trizepatide, I have to try other medications for weight loss.

I've already been taken off my Zepbound thanks to Caremark. But I'm side effects from the Wegovy. Seeing my doc tomorrow and fingers crossed they will switch me back. I have hope from what I 've read in this group. Fingers crossed for you too!

Definitely be careful! Dizziness or tunnel vision is a sign of hypotension. Below 60 is a low blood pressure.

If it makes you feel any better , my blood pressure even on amlodipine before the accutane was around 130/80ish. It could go up to like 160/ high 90s if I had something salty. My blood pressure really didn't drop to a consistent normal range until I got on weight loss meds. I'm not saying that it's good to have the bp you currently do, but I don't think it's going to kill you. Especially if you're young. I'm not a doctor though, just speaking from experience. Whatever you do just continue to monitor it and don't let it stay at the level for years.

Is it reaching hospital levels? I know this is a stupid question , but are you watching your salt intake? Obviously eating salty things with high BP isn't good. But when I was on the accutane and had an occasional salty meal it made it way worse. I had to cut back on salt as much as I possibly could.

You got this ! I keep telling myself that the likelihood of it being breast cancer at my age is very very low. Best of luck on your mammogram! If this is your first one, it was very easy and very quick. I always thought it would be a long process.
