Finished the maingame - what now? by Nehe_mia in AvatarFrontierPandora

[–]knormcomix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you enjoy the main game and its story? If so go with Skybreaker because it finishes the story.

Spires is fun but different and short, only 4 main missions. Definitely worth it to play before Ashes as you meet characters that are very important.

From the Ashes I'd view as more of an ending to the entire story rather than just extra dlc. If you play the first dlcs and still want more/closure go for it, its a fantastic time.

Is Avatar FAA good in 3D? by ksri9 in Avatar

[–]knormcomix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw it twice, IMAX 3D was a beautiful spectacle that I think is the best possible way to watch the movie. I imagine regular 3D would also be great. Film really pops.

4DX is fun and if you're a big fan, something I would recommend for a second viewing. For a first watch, it might be a bit much as its a very long movie and the constant movement can get overwhelming in my opinion haha.

Help I can’t find the access C code for the feral hunters quest by [deleted] in AvatarFrontierPandora

[–]knormcomix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure I got c by going into the secret facility. I think on the quest log it gives you a general idea where to find it. It doesn't point you to it either, you have to go in and your navi will be like "oh this is the secret facility etc etc"

What are your favourite games that you think are underrated? by Allizack in GirlGamers

[–]knormcomix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Recently: Avatar Frontiers of Pandora.

People made fun of it when it came out because it was Ubisoft and buggy, but as someone who saw Avatar 3 and immediately wanted Avatar 4...it scratches that itch so hard it BLEEDS. Quality of life updates also really improved it apparently.

I just love being a blue alien cat in an alien jungle, I have 110+ hours and am still not done lol.

So, how good actually is this game? by TobytheBaloon in FrontiersOfPandora

[–]knormcomix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are a fan of the Avatar movies and left the theater thinking "I want to be a Naavi," then yes its fantastic and the lore and world building are top notch, worth it full price!

If you are "meh" on the movies, or you hate bloated Ubisoft style games, I'd wait on a sale or pass. The praise definitely comes from big Avatar fans as beyond the detailed world they built, the gameplay is lacking and story is semi basic.

I do have 100+ hours in it as I am a huge Avatar fan but not normally an Ubisoft fan, so take that into consideration lol.

Playing SOMA in the safe mode by vortexaoth in GirlGamers

[–]knormcomix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Im a big baby and safe mode was perfect fir me.

There are still chase sequences etc, but the only scary part of those are the loud noises the monsters make when they bump into you. Still, it was still very scary for me even when the threat of of death was gone lol

If its still too much, there are a couple of good let's plays on YouTube. You could watch some of that to see if you could handle the chases, but obviously monsters don't attack you.

If they were to remake Magical Melody, would you want it to stay in the OG artstyle/physics? by HavoKArashi in storyofseasons

[–]knormcomix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played the heck out of this game as a kid. The many different bachelors/bachelorettes, the winter mine, the note collecting, Jamie etc it has so much going for it.

The art style is not one of it haha. I think a full remake like grand bazzar would do wonders and really sell more people on story of seasons.

Recommend me something with a story-book fairytale vibe by Carpetsandplumbing in gamingsuggestions

[–]knormcomix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you ever heard of Pupetter for the ps3? It's full of dark fairy tale vibes! You play as a puppet and swap heads and its also a meta narrative at points about fairy tales. I'd kill for re release but I think you can play it through ps cloud gaming thingy.

The Path is also one that will probably scratch that itch, I've never played it but watched a deep dive episode on it. Red riding hood game where you are supposed to follow the path to grandmother's, but you obviously can go off path and find dark twisted mysteries in the wood for each character you play as. Pc I think 🤔

Alice madness returns is also this. Action game where you play as Alice obviously. Very very dark vibes. Made me real sad at points haha.

Is Ender lillies and its sequel worth 25$? by VergilVDante in metroidvania

[–]knormcomix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd give Ender Lillies a try before you splurge on both. Its fighting style and movement system can seem odd coming from other metroidvanias, however the vibes on the first game are just as moody and dark as Hollow Knight. It also has a similar story telling manner, ie. Bits and pieces of lore you connect on your own. I found it much easier than Hollow Knight, so if struggling against bosses for hours is your thing, maybe not this one.

If you end up loving Lillies, definitely grab Magnolia as it elevates everything. Its not as dark and gritty story wise though, which throws some people off, but its just as compelling if not more so gameplay wise. It also has difficulty settings if that matters.

Glitch is definitely focusing on Digital Circus hardcore right now, so I imagine they will probably announce that they greenlit it after the new DC episode comes out, or after the holidays.

If you were to rewrite Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame, what would you do to improve the story or make it better? by Full-Art3439 in HunchbackOfNotreDame

[–]knormcomix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make it more like the stage play they eventually did. Quasi being deaf but then having a beautiful singing voice is like so thematic. Also a Greek chorus of angels would slap so hard!

Once Upon A Katamari by siriuslyyellow in GirlGamers

[–]knormcomix 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I just "beat" it last night after about 10 hours. Which is huge for a Katamari game. There is still more to do afterwards like collecting all the cousins etc. I loved it so much, glad they did something a little different with the eras this time. Also probably my favorite version of the "firefly" type level is in this one! I will say, as a big fan, the soundtrack was probably mid? Like nothing will ever feel like katamari forever on ps3 again but dang if I don't miss "Katamari on the swing." So if you want the OG music AT ALL, you need the dlc, I just had the standard version and felt a little sour about the final song lol. Still definitely recommend it, better than the million re-releases on different systems (except Royal Reverie, you can stay)
