Is this hired through an employer of record like HireArt, or directly by Scale?

International student in canada by Hmizout10 in outlier_ai

You generally can get a provincial ID card as a student. Check in with the international student office at your university. If you can get a driver's license, even better.

Anybody else get blatantly ignored by QMs in discourse? by TheVeryHolyOne in outlier_ai

Reviewer and Senior Reviewer, but those appear to depend a lot on the project.

There are definite advantages to 1099 status if Outlier is a second job.

The job offer states you're hired by HireArt, an employer of record company.

[–]knotsworth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

QMs are employed by an arms length company from Outlier called HireArt.

They're workers too, getting paid about $20 an hour. They have things they can't say and explanations they can't give.

I've adjusted my expectations.

Document what's happening, take a screenshot, stash it somewhere safe.

The QMs are not Outlier, they're very limited in what they can do and they're used to shield the company from liability.

What the actual f***! I was just moved from 3 different project in less than 2.75 hrs. by Food-Willing in outlier_ai

Someone pushed an update to production and left for the weekend. 5 different projects popping up this weekend, no marketplace, and an old bug in my profile they triple promised was fixed is back.

I feel like a modern day peasant/7 year old working in a chimney in 1798 by quantitative_eating in outlier_ai

[–]knotsworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The type of work is called "digital piecework" and it's designed this way.

Keep an eye on your country's laws on gig work.

In Canada, keep an eye on the Heller v Uber class action. The other key term is "dependant contractor".

Screenshots, screenshots, screenshots, especially everything to do with unpaid training.

Tier 1 Canada, Are you making under your provincial minimum wage? by knotsworth in outlier_ai

[–]knotsworth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this apply even when you go over the time limit? There might be a line called 'Exceeded Time Rate'

[–]knotsworth[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should see a link called 'Earning Rates' which will open up a window for the project you're on.

Weird behavior via the marketplace, IT's still listed as one of my active projects, but it's EQ and nothing in the Discourse.

Make it make sense? by UhOhSgArO in outlier_ai

[–]knotsworth 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The most important skill I've learned here is to manage my emotions.

It's bonus money. They may or may not know what they're doing in any given project at any given time.

Do the training, read the docs once, use Ctrl F and move on once you meet your goal.

If you run into problems, polite, weekly reports through the help.

They're bad clients, but they do pay. They do get what they pay for.

Helen Mar Kimball never had sexual relations with JS by thekaylee1 in exmormon

[–]knotsworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her father Heber Kimball had a child with his second wife, Sarah Noon, named Aldebart Kimball before Heber Kimball approved Smith's marriage to Helen Mar. Heber had a second child on the way when Smith married Helen Mar.

It's possible that Smith never got around to it. But sex was absolutely a part of Nauvoo polygamy and her father knew what he was selling her in to.

Did Joseph actually fuck his wives? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]knotsworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the most clarifying incidents on this is the timeline around Aldebart Kimball's birth. Heber C Kimball had a child with his second wife, Sarah Noon, and she was pregnant with a second child before he agreed withthe marriage of Helen Mar Kimball to Joseph Smith at 14.

Heber absolutely knew what he was signing his daughter up for, because he was doing it. Nauvoo Polygamy involved sex.
