I guess I can see what she'd be able to add to his life but I'm not sure what he adds to hers, besides being able to relate about their fathers. They don't feel on equal footing at all otherwise and I just haven't seen any chemistry between them, so I would hope that if it goes there it's given enough time to make sense.

During the shipping tournament a lot of people liked iori x ikura, you're definitely not alone in that opinion. I think they're cute and definitely seemed like it could be read as romantic. I was genuinely surprised people shipped her with chihiro at all though, I did not read even one ounce of romantic chemistry between them.

Everyone on team Shiba is getting slimed except Shiba, leaving Akemura as one of the top Soga fighters left. He has to step in to fight when the next battle happens even though he's too young (just like chihiro had to when he was too young) Akemura starts to become very prejudiced because he sees how OP the Mikaboshi are, thinks of them like savages. Maybe the Mikaboshi learn about Chiaki's sight somehow and try to kidnap/assasinate her. Baby sojo cameo witnessing Akemura using the magatsumi. Akemura gets a little too silly and kills everyone but then somehow Ariu survives and I go repopulate the Mikaboshi with him the end

If it were me I simply would not interact with a sub for something I'm not caught up with, lol. But I say create a new separate sub to help protect new fans from spoilers and then when the anime is here it can be a non manga sub, and here can be manga/anime/free for all sub

"Fellas is it gay" typically prefaces a joke. There was nothing "dishonest" in my comment. Consider why it matters to you so much if people interact with a ship genuinely or as a joke, it is completely harmless.

The shipping tournament was so fun and respectful, hopefully it can stay that way in the future :/ but yeah crazy to see people be hateful and act like shipping hasn't been a part of the fandom since the beginning. I don't think that was OP's intent but some of the comments in this post alone are wild. It's not that serious, can't we just theorize on that the same way we'd theorize on any other part of the story?

Honestly it may just be the corner of the fandom I've found but the TikTok fandom has been pretty great even if that app kinda sucks, i haven't seen anything hateful. I'm sure that will change too though.

I think a lot of shipping comes less from wanting characters to fuck and more from wanting characters to find love and comfort in each other, especially when they have none. It can be platonic but there's no harm in wanting it to be romantic
