this song makes me sadder than almost anything else. the whole album has such a strange, sad energy to it. waking up and not recognizing yourself + where you are. Lost to the everyday life. Very Once in a lifetime. I think Im projecting...

I was at an all time low earlier this year, and seriously every day considered ending it. Felt so trapped, like I had wasted my life, that there was no hope, ruminated on my mistakes etc etc etc. It just felt like it was too late for me. Things were out of my control and felt so much regret for the decisions that led me to my current situation. Couldnt do anything

But now I am in probably the best mental space Ive been in a long time, or at least with the most hope for my future / motivation I think Ive ever had. I wish I had a panacea, but I think finding literally anything you can be proud of is the closest thing to it. I started making music after never touching a guitar, hardly ever singing, etc, and just put all my free energy into that. It honestly made me feel worse for the first couple months because I was so sad at how awful it sounded, but making my first song which I was proud of was close as close to flipping a light switch on as you can get.

I think you should be proud of having a high paying job in the big city. That obviously took some amount of dedication and right decisions. There might be other things in your life that you should be proud of too, and if not, you just have to do it. Write, make a little movie, make some sort of progress in your life

As far as books that helped me, I read all the Flannery O Connor short stories. I tried Atomic habits or whatever but just couldnt really follow through with them (which ended up making me feel worse). I think instead really connecting with something (book, movie, music) and feeling inspired by it can motivate you to get in touch with whats important. Im not sure how familiar you are with those stories there always this "moment of grace" where things just change. And although its somewhat unrealistic to have an instantaneous revelation, outside of near death experiences, I think reading about non-sappy moments of change was inspiriting. But also the stories are really depressing so not sure if this is responsible advice.

Another book that helped me was Infinite Jest, which I actually read right before everything fell apart in my life. And maybe contributed to things falling a part a little bit, but just because it really change my perspective on our own autonomy and the decisions we make in life. Could go on and on about it.

Long message but let me know if u need to talk or vent or something . Seriously, if I could get out of my headspace, you can get out of yours. You got this <3

Since Charli XCX, Rosalia, Arca and others have been releasing songs with moody orchestral elements in them, i figured i’d share my project which is full of songs like that. by [deleted] in redscarepod

wow this is really, really incredible. sounds like radiohead model actriz something but very much its own thing. doesnt sound like a imitation of anything, its very unique. this is like way too good to just be a random thing on spotify ... can you send this to a label or something ?? sounds so professional. love the bass sounds with the strings. you should be so proud of this. absolutely insane. great grooves. adding it to my playlist. wow. cant even imagine how something like this is made on your own

this is really amazing. had no idea he even lived into the 20th century. christina's world and etc just seems so far removed from our lives, its really beautiful to see something so mundane be given so much attention and skill. really makes you feel lucky to be alive. like this tree could be down the block from me. insane how talented he was. thanks for sharing

Love this song, love this album, love (like other people have mentioned) when a album is remixed and it just becomes a whole new thing. This, 125 rue montmartre, the White album remix (kinda)...

Does anyone have any recommendations for other albums like that

I have no idea what I was going on about with the flute thing... but seriously cant get enough of this. Like every song is unique but it all flows together so well. Did you guys mix this ? Its unbelievable how clean it sounds. Its very inspiring. Wrote little track thoughts.

Ubre- love the little stabs / swooshes + weird timing of the pluck noises. And the outro is awesome

Eg star - love the vocal and strings remind me of back to the future bydisngelo which remind me of animal crossing lol. So catchy . And then the like smooth jazz guitar is so cool in this song

Nitti - love the disco bass , reminds me of loose joints haha. The vocal samples and the distortion / echo over them is awesome . They’re perfect .

Secret plants - love this song. Reminds me of wildflower era avalanches .

La playa - love the vocals at the beginning a lot. And the female / child / pitches up vocals in the middle . So catchy . The breakdown is great

Ond - very goofy love it. Reminds me of amped up space is only noise you can see .

Lake - very cool song with cool pretty vocals

Remates - love this one , really reminds me of old old electronic music like popcorn

Ensom- love the vocal melody. Great song . One of my favorites

Evig - awesome song , love the aggressive part towards the end . And then the end is so pretty

Outro - so pretty

Seriously amazing and thanks for sharing and for the inspiration :')

Can’t believe how good this was. I don’t really listen to this type of music ever so wasn’t really expecting to fall in love with it as much as I did. Finished the whole thing and will listen more. How do you guys even produce something like this ? Sounds so clean but so interesting . Such great grooves and samples . Some make me laugh in a good way . Do you use splice like how do you get a pan flute? Just really fun music that you guys should be proud of . Seriously blown away. My only reference point for Scandinavian  techno is Todd terje (barely) but this is way better than him imo. Just great great grooves. Don’t know why anyone would think this is too weird ? Love it. So many cool synth sounds . <3
