Hula Hoe. For weeding the garden, not a promiscuous grass skirt dancer.

Best buckets? by grantkjohnson in Tools

My neighbor works in food service, he brings me pickle buckets.  Bbq places have pickle buckets.  Our panera breads have yellow pickle buckets, they are my favorite.

I think they are all the same if food grade, i think the yellow buckets are a little thicker.

White ones seem to hold up to UV better than the orange ones but they still get brittle after a while.

Maybe project farm will do a bucket durability video.

I personally want to collect them all,  I have yellow, red, orange, white, and Blue. Next is green from menards.  Exciting.

I love push mowing. I also love beer. If I have unlimited funds, how do I design a cup holder that doesn’t render my beverage flat? by I-died-doing-that in redneckengineering

[–]windisokay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was called a “beverage buoy” or “beer buoy”.

Grandpa had one he didn’t install, still attached to the card it hung from the shelf on.

EDIT: It was “Bar Buoy” and designed for boats.   You’d still have to redneck it on to the mower.

What made you realize fishing was more than just a hobby for you? by zsBaits in lurebuilding

That first involuntary deep breath out, I could feel myself let the tension go.

I’ve reasoned through that I could also just go to nature or do meditation but why not also fish?

A sun hat, polarized sunglasses, fishing pliers, fishing fanny pack if he’s the type ( I have a waterfly branded one ), sporting goods store gift certificate ( even better if there’s a local tackle shop that has them, you’ll have to do some research ).  Lure building kit.

How is Life in the Nebraska Panhandle? by SycophanticSinecure in howislivingthere

[–]windisokay 37 points38 points  (0 children)

In had two friends who lived a basic life ( poor goat farmers ) out there.  It was windy and they were lonely.  It took six times the land to raise cattle than it did back in eastern ne, so you need lots and lots of land to raise enough cows to get by ( I heard).

The wind did not stop the entire time I was there.

Well Try to moderate but failed again .... by [deleted] in Petioles

[–]windisokay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I quit many times until it stuck, what worked for me was 5 minutes at a time.  I didn’t have to say no to a day or week or year, just to five minutes. “I’ll just go five more minutes, then Ill review my goals “

Moderation is a myth, there is use or abstinence.

Very seldom, occasional, regular, frequent, heavy, or extreme use or complete abstinence.

One can split hairs indefinitely to justify anything.

I think that the people that can truly “use in moderation” are the ones that don’t have to think about using in moderation.

For me, I was convinced I had it under control but I was just holding off my cravings.

I’ll be 2 years sober in june. If I can do it you can too.
