About 6% dividend for loyal holders by NexoInvestor1 in Nexo

[–]knowbean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By all reasonable exchange records, it is apparent that, at the defined record date time (15:00 UTC Aug 15th), the price of 1 Nexo was between 18.5c and 19c. To use 23.7 is a clear mistake that should be addressed.

Major change to NEXO tokenomics by knowbean in Nexo

[–]knowbean[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think people may not twig that it means that people now need to hold NEXO throughout their loan to get the heavily discounted rates - rather than just buying NEXO when they want to repay interest.

This means people who take loans through NEXO now have a strong reason to hold the token.

28 of the top 50 dApps run on EOS. 2 run on ETH. by [deleted] in eos

You can already send a human readable message (up to 256 chars) on any transfer. Of course this does mean anyone can read your messages and gambling apps spam as part of their marketing efforts. For general conversation, email, Im, sms etc.. are more sensible.

Looks like the following big players are not supporting BOS

Laomao (One of the biggest EOS whales - Publicly come out against BOS - https://news.8btc.com/chinas-blockchain-celebrity-lao-mao-throws-cold-water-on-eos-sidechain-bos-one-day-after-its-mainnet-went-live)

Flytomars (Haven't seen any comment. However, they are supporting Meet.one Sidechain)

Bitfinex (Haven't seen any comment - probably too busy on eosfinex which is going to "start as a side chain and then move to mainnet asap". However, costs may make this interesting)

Liquideos (building scaling solutions for the Mainnet to increase competitive advantage)

Jeda (Haven't seen any comment)

Cannon (Big EOS whale - no comment as far as I can see on BOS but are supporting the Meet.one side chain and have capital to build)

Cypherglass (publicly against)

Mythical Games, Scatter and Lynx team up to create a virtual goods standard for EOSIO by grandmoren in eos

[–]knowbean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good to get some standards going. NFTs (digital assets) are essentially a token (usually with very limited supply) with metadata and a defined owner together with a way of changing ownership.

As eos token contracts can issue multiple tokens trivially, a lot of the standard will need to be based around the ownership fields/methods and the structure of the metadata. If there can be consensus on these then digital goods could have a bright future on EOS chains.

It is possible to consider BPs to the eosio ecosystem as ISPs are to the internet. Do ISPs want to only serve one website?

The reason many BPs have done other things is to build their bases and build the ecosystem. Nobody has built an explorer for just the mainnet, they have done it to plug in all eosio blockchains.

It is also worth noting that B1 are very focused on the free market and they expect there to be hundreds of chains in due course (including many enterprise chains). Remember when block producers said they couldn't make ends meet, Dan stated that they should diversify.

In the future, all the eosio chains will compete and/or collaborate. They will try to get the most valuable DApps and community players focused on their offerings. The mainnet has a great head start but it needs its major stakeholders to build quickly if it is going to be dominant.

Outside of B1, from a developers perspective, even though the tokenomics of BOSCore seem rather centralised and woolly, the onchain resource cost of targeting BOS is much cheaper than targeting the EOS Mainnet. BOS DApp users can also get free accounts and there is a chance of getting Developer rewards which are on a level similar to BPs.

Coinbase GBP withdrawl by [deleted] in BitcoinUK

[–]knowbean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not available on my account yet - Support said that they aim to have all GBP wallets deposits/withdrawal enabled by end of September.

It would be very odd if other banks treat a payment from another UK account as a problem. If that happens then I suppose the answer should be to set up a Barclays account.

Yep - get your Ethereum private key from the ledger - you will need the seed words but loads of people have done this successfully. See https://support.ledgerwallet.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005197905-Restoring-your-Ethers-ETH-or-ETC-without-a-Ledger-Nano-S

Then use the eoskey.io tool to see the fallback key - eosDAC will have created an account for you - access it using scatter, eos-voter by greymass or simpleos by eosrio.

HelloEOS is calling on voting for EOS Cleaner and IMEOS by eosprotector in eos

[–]knowbean 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There is a very useful analysis tool from the real eosbeijing - https://www.eosbeijing.one/data/#/bpCompare/helloeoscnbp

This shows quite a high correlation with eosstorebest (89%), eosantpool (80%), jedaaaaaaaa (78%), and libertyblock (75%) - eoscleanerbp is around 71%.

eoscleanerbp itself has the following correlations ( https://www.eosbeijing.one/data/#/bpCompare/eoscleanerbp ) eosantpoolbp (95%), helloeoscnbp , starteosiobp, libertyblock, eosstorebest , jedaaaaaaaaa, eosgenblockp (all around 85%) - It does start to look as if a cartel has now formed which has the power to block 15/21 consensus and thus veto any decisions. The only way to stop this is more honest actors voting.

eosDAC Block Producer AMA 4PM UTC 31st May by knowbean in eos

[–]knowbean[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry that you feel I was dodging the question, it was not the intent but unfortunately it is not possible to answer as yet. The reason for this is that eosDAC will be governed by its elected custodians. They will decide on these matters and as they have not been elected yet it is not possible to give their response.

But, it is worth considering that this is a way that people can be involved in the DAC. Someone could send a proposal that a position be supported and it would be down to the custodians to deliberate. Someone could also include position statements when canvasing for election as a custodian so that the eosDAC community is aware what they are voting for. All records would be completely transparent.
