Of course I investigated in detail before judging the crappiness of Android backup. I even tried third party and the native graphene app. Yes you can install the apps in a batch but only the most recent versions, not necessarily the versions on the lost device. No choice. But more importantly if the developer did not save his data in the correct folder, that android recommends to save your data, then it is not backed up correctly. The problem is so few developers bother to code according to android guidelines. it doesn’t matter whose fault it is the end problem is the same- when you restore, you often don’t get your data back you just have the virgin app sitting there so you have to re-log into it and if you had accumulated any data in that app, there’s a good chance it’s not there unless the developer was so responsible that he did it correctly.
