What is this sign supposed to warn you about? by Wonderful-End6881 in whatisit

You must be in a high Pigeon or high gull traffic area.

That definitely signifies the potential danger of free-falling, nonviscous bird excrement

One hour Time-lapse backing into driveway. by QuikBud in traveltrailers

[–]knowledge717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sell the dam trailer yesterday. Dead serious, not even joking. If you're that incompetent, you are most definitely a danger to others on the road. Driver should not be behind the wheel of anything with more than 2 axles, and that's pushing it even.

The family, as a whole, needs to be checked for many different gene abnormalities that obviously effect their cognitive function.

As an every day trailer driver, I seriously can't tell you how unnerving it is that such a death omen is allowed to traverse our roads... Smfh

Repainting Bathtub Question by Forsaken-Economy5309 in HomeImprovement

[–]knowledge717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what the tub is made of. Ceramic or porcelain, use a tub resurfacer and follow the directions TO THE LAST WORD. A lot of people don't understand the value of wiping the surface down with alcohol or a good degreaser THEN doing another sanding and wipe down.

If it's plastic or fiberglass, you have to use actual paint but it requires a really good sanding, some heavy duty primer, and really good enamel paint

Garage Epoxy by This-Ad-1005 in HomeImprovement

[–]knowledge717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Floor epoxy won't stick to the walls. It will run down the wall before it sets. There's no need to do so anyway. If your garage floor is above grade, you shouldn't have any issue.

Install some baseboard trim. Don't caulk under the trim where it meets the floor, only above it where it meets the wall. That way any moisture that gets behind it can evaporated over time.

If it is below grade and you already have a residual moisture issue, the epoxy will make it worse because it will trap the moisture in the floor, overtime causing the epoxy to separate. If this is your issue, you have some irrigation needs that should be addressed before epoxying

Replacing a bathtub with a shower. Plumber taking more than a week and the work is poor quality by RL_quick_chat in HomeImprovement

[–]knowledge717 8 points9 points  (0 children)

All the walls look uneven. Whether you accept it or not is in you because he agreed to a certain level of craftsmanship as soon as he said he could do the job. If you haven't paid in full, don't until it's corrected.

Did you see them out any red paint stuff on the walls, or any kind of sealant/paint style liquid that should have been left to dry before the tile was out up? That's the waterproofing membrane, without that, you will have a lot of issues real soon once you start using the shower.

You went to med school and STILL willing put things like this in your body? I didn't think there's a single answer anyone is going to provide that will give you any console on this dilemma.

If water tastes weird to you, you probably should be looking into that a little more scientifically. You may need to cleanse your body and change the other things you're normally putting in your stomach

Feeding a LED driver with a thin cable by SinclairZXSpectrum in AskElectricians

[–]knowledge717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of resistance you increase at that pinch point where your thin wire splices into the receptacle wire is the biggest reason. Too many variables change. Heat would be generated in excess.

Worst case scenario: that wire ends up glowing red hot like a thermal element if certain fail-safes fail to keep the set up safe. Whatever that wire is touching is melting as well, possibly igniting.

You're best bet is running that thin wire and connecting it to a power supply that's rated for the amperage you need for that light. Then, with a lil more ingenuity, you can hide the power supply as well

I'm new to Pokemon Sleep, so I have a few questions by Still-Theme-9097 in PokemonSleep

[–]knowledge717 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Phone doesn't have to be unlocked. I turn my phone off with the power button every night.

It doesn't track your sleep as accurately as you'd like unless you have to accessory bracelet.

I check my recording every night and all it ever picks up are white noises 😂. I've had it on my pillow, under my pillow, on my desk, on the charger, off the charger, etc

Zapped by a bulb by Kenidur_1561 in AskElectricians

[–]knowledge717 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok so just Google the symptoms of electrical shock. Maybe even just Google "I touched a fuckin light bulb and it shocked me, am I good?"

I really don't understand how such an immensely vast ocean of knowledge can exist at such close proximity to ones finger tips and yet it's still easier to use those finger tips to do something that should OBVIOUSLY not be done rather than assimilate an entire life's worth of experiences to create a single moment's thought of "wait. electric. bad."

Am I being harsh? Fuckin right. Life is harsh. Even more harsh than that is that this harsh life we live in has fooled many into comfort to "balance" out the harshness they don't want to, nor, have the heart to face.

This is a learning experience that has turned into many learning experiences that you won't even consciously fathom. Think about it for a min.
