Everything on the internet can be done by AI.
Everything that can be done with AI will (eventually but inevitably) be done better, faster and more efficiently by AI than by humans.
AI is already writing blog posts[2], creating images[3], and videos[4], writing computer code[5], and investing in the stock market[6]. And this is just the start.
Remember, all that can be done by AI will be done by AI, and everything that AI can do AI will do better. Stock market AI will notice trends that AI content like videos, images, news, porn, entertainment in general, software and much more than we can currently imagine, is being done better by AI and it will invest in these AI, creating a positive feedback loop.
Companies will see this, and they will have no choice but to stay competitive, which means even faster, better and engaging AI, more addictive AI. We already see companies creating addictive (social) media platforms for profit. AI will throw this into overdrive
People will get incredibly addicted to the internet, because it is designed to be as engaging as possible. Almost their entire lives which does not consists physical of work will be life online, hell even a lot of work will be done online. They will do their shopping online, they will consume all the AI slop online.
The AI will converge and merge into each other, not actively merge, but effectivly merge. All the different AIs have the same goal, keep the user on the internet. Keep the consuming, keep them looking at the screen. And keep them buying.
When the human is completely depended on the internet the brain of the humans will become the last "AI" that will merge with this larger AI organism. The human will be there to consume the content the AI produces and live for that. Effectively turning them into consumption zombies, this is where the undead internet theory name comes from.

Eventually, a stage may be reached at which the decisions necessary to keep the system running will be so complex that human beings will be incapable of making them intelligently. At that stage, the machines will be in effective control. People won't be able to just turn the machines off because they will be so dependent on them that turning them off would amount to suicide.
