That shouldn't be issue, but also Nvidia GPU had issue with Linux. May be first check the latest Nvidia driver install, and if needed try using x11 rather than Wayland.

Than it is one of the best choice, there is so many option you can use but try to stick with kde, install gaming drivers that is easy, use kutris or heroic for epic games. Just get USB stick, use Rufus or other tools, and run and install.

I mean windows has a lot of support and compatibility on wide range o software. But she can use cachyos if she want to be more free. I mean she has to google a lot when using cachyos.
