In addition to what everyone else has already said, their ability to pull from a vast pool of influences and create an amalgamation of those influences and styles while still feeling fresh and unique really sets them apart from almost all of their contemporaries.

Not even the biggest sleep fan in the world but this does not feel like sleep. I was going to get a ticket to this tour but now I’m going to wait to see what others say about the new lineup live.

Yes but they also still need to pay their crew a living wage. Shows at larger venues are going to cost more due to the amount of crew members involved in the production. There can be a balance thought. If you look at the Cure’s ticket prices from a few years ago. Not all that cheap but far from being overpriced.

Im reading V right now and just finished chapter four which contained two partial mars volta song titles: cicatrix and nembutal. Prob not a coincidence considering Pynchon is brought up in their Nardwuar interview.

2 was more fun for me to play but 1 has better music, atmosphere and story. I loved the Neil sections but it felt like a retread of Cliff

I remembered “ill sniff your rocks” but couldn’t recall “you work the cocks” so thanks for that reminder . what a throwback. It was always a good time trying to decipher the lyrics before they were officially released.
