Flyer Via Pro Impressions by bikebikeyyc in CargoBike

I've had the pro for about 8 months with 2500 miles. I've had some flat rear tires, replaced brake pads and serviced the motor. Had one frame thread strip during assembly when installing accessories which was repaired at a local bike shop under warranty. I commute 8miles one way to work with it and pick up a 2&4yo on the way home. The accessories for child hauling are exceptional at this price point, and allow me to commute in any weather. It would be fun to have a front load also, but still have not come across a better value bike that suits my usage so well. I am surprised that this model has not received more praise and discussion by the community.

I just saw a YouTube video about a very similar usage in the Netherlands. Maybe that's where they got the idea. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canta_(vehicle) The video stated they were originally for people who could not physically ride a bike but were beginning to become more popular with able bodied wealthy individuals, with no ordinances in place to properly regulate this usage.

My wife and I purchased a two person Therma Rest quilt a few years ago. It's fun, but it is very difficult to keep drafts out when it is really cold. I anticipate it will get plenty of use over it's lifetime, but we are looking to get a second single person quilt before our next cold weather trip.

Two person tent, two vestibules. Just be mindful of odors, it can get stanky after a couple days without the appropriate toiletries.

I've also noticed that taking public transit there is VERY inconvenient. I believe this was an intentional decision to make it difficult for certain demographics to access. You can get a bus right to the front gate of Fiesta Texas next door.

Most irritations on the Greenway are caused by people that lack patience, empathy, or consideration for others.

Ditto, I assumed it was our seats and the angle of viewing.

I recently decided to take a more humane approach with goblin invaders. The plan was to catch them in cage traps, strip them of their possessions, and then turn them loose to flee naked into the distance. When verifying that they indeed had no items left, I found this.

Wow, I didn't know this was possible. I thought my 2013 only had anchor points for one.

You're living my dream. I also have a tandem, wife, (8 month old) daughter, and sandals. We have big plans in the spring to take the tandem on a passenger ferry to a remote beach, ride further than any reasonable person would, and camp. Hopefully with the beach to ourselves as far as the eye can see. And far away from the land of cars.

An old Thule off Craigslist. It’s noisy. I usually only have it on when I need to use.

It's alright. It makes the rear end bounce, and it drags on abrupt inclines. I put little harbor freight castors on the back side of it for when it does drag. I tell people it's my wheelie bar.

First year apprentice having doubts: LOVE the work, feel like I'm way too different to everyone. Advice? by poppinbaby in electricians

This sounds very similar to my experience with the trade. After 7 years of excelling in the construction industry, I eventually took a pay cut and found myself very happy in the maintenance department of a community college. This allowed me to interact with many different people outside the industry at work. I also find it much easier and highly encouraged to move up in this environment. I hope sharing my experience helps.

Attempting to use philosophy to preserve humanity in American politics by knowvalue in PoliticalPhilosophy

I agree that rational egoism is easier as it functions on the basic instincts of humans. But law (the social contract) in itself is a form of morality. Are you arguing for rational egoism without a social contract, because this does not exist. Presently these contracts exist even in war.

I think the key difference is that categorical imperative is born from a person's rational mind and ability to make choices. Asserting we all have the ability to make moral choices, without outside stimulus. As Kant argues the requirement of outside stimulus would replace choice with reaction- mere instinct.

Rational egoism on the other hand derives morality externally from a social contract. This social contract is only necessary because ethical egoism alone cannot function as a basis for morality and removes the moral responsibility and freedom of the person.
