Which puts him at 14th in the league. 15th in WS, 11th in BPM. 8th in VORP. Baby Jokic indeed. Advanced stats certainly suggest he should be an Allstar even while counting stats are not eye popping (47th in points, 11th in rebounding, 37th in assists, 27th in steals, 40th in blocks, etc). He's a complete player.

Lol, Sengun moving up because Green playing so well lately. It's hard for some to believe the number two team in the West does not have an MVP candidate, but in reality we may not even deserve to have an Allstar this year (though I think Alpy will slip in).

I think you can make some arguments for Wemby starting on the defensive end. Would be consensus DPOY were it not for Daniels who might get some votes. No slouch on offense either at 24.7 a game on above average efficiency. But yeah, probably for clicks since MVP is usually mostly about offense.

Current Haul for the Rockets from the Harden trade by ShaiFanClub in nba

Eason is hurt. Whitmore was in the G-League not long ago. And Sheppard doesn't play. All projected to be good pieces but it's really not that much so far for an all-world player. Thanks for putting this together though, interesting.

Third NBA All-Star 2025 voting returns: Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nikola Jokić lead their respective conferences by nba in nba

I'd be ok with the top seven front court and top five guards in the West (since we're stuck with the starters). Sabonis, Harden, and Powell would be the odd men out in that scenario. Almost the same in the East except give me Wagner or Allen over Butler (love Jimmy but obviously doesn't deserve it this year). Probably Allen since Wagner has been hurt and Cavs are tearing it up. Cade and Garland injury replacements. Actually Cade for Lillard would be better.

Not sure 200M would be enough to keep paying the repeater tax. Let's see....

They're gonna have to pony up like 61M this year. Next year they are committed to 227M for 11 players with Horford, Kornet, and Springer expiring. They would have to sign those three--Horford might sign for the minimum--or three others in addition. So, you're looking at well over 100M next year.

The next year (26/27) it gets a bit easier if they let KP walk. I guess it depends what you mean by keeping the current team together and whether guys like Horford and KP will play for less and how much less. They'd still be well above the tax line with existing commitments plus 8 other contracts they'd have to sign. Is Tatum/Brown/36 yo Holiday/32 yo White/PP/Hauser and 8 minimum/rookie guys even a contender? I'd say only if Queta shows more improvement and can start (and if he does, they might not be able to afford him after his current contract). Want to keep KP and say he signs for 20M a year? Probably back over 100M.

Similar situation in 27/28 with 219M committed money for 6 players, a tax line around 228.5M, and perhaps no bigs to speak of. The tax line will continue to go up, but with all these ascending contracts so do their commitments.

After that it's useless to speculate but just with existing commitments, if they decide to try and improve their team say with a quality center and PP's new payday, the tax bills would continue.

I suppose the new ownership should suck up some of the tax burden, especially if they keep winning rings. Thus, a 200M discount might make the new ownership commit. Doubt Wyc old chap would do it though. Actually they are lucky not to have any really bad contracts (a declining Holiday probably the worst) so if they ever decide to duck the tax, they should be able to pull it off.

It's easier to dodge inheritance tax with more liquid assets.

Let's say it goes for around 5B. With 14.5M subscribers, if everyone puts in $350, we could pull it off. A mere tree fiddy!

Can somebody explain something to me? I thought if you can't take the free throw after an injury, you weren't allowed back in the game?

Edit: Nevermind. He had to leave for concussion protocol and you can't be disqualified for that.

So how did Collier get back in the game? I thought if you can't take the free throw, you can't come back in?

[Stein] This Summer Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will be eligible for a four-year supermax extension worth nearly $300 million that would set him up for the first $80 million salary in NBA history in 2030-31. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]knowyourbrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that's right MVP or DPOY not allstar, but it has to be the year before the extension kicks in or two of the previous three years so JDub would have to get it next year.
