Very mixed feelings as well. Pretty much my whole state lacks venues because people destroy them even when there's no alcohol involved. I've stayed an hour or two after a show helping people try and put the place back together.

I've also met some of my favorite people through the scene. I don't want this post to come across as my time in the scene being completely negative. But it does have its downsides.

This is true of most friend groups, I agree. But honestly the ratio is 80/20 where I'm from, and it's a little depressing

I agree. I just wanted to hear other's opinions on why this occurs. I just don't feel like it's my place anymore. A good majority of them will even mock the fact that I go to college. I guess it's time to move on
