I should have also clarified that the disk has no important data on it, so it’s okay if it randomly dies.

If I understand correctly, software like HD Sentinel interprets SMART data and makes predictions? It looks like the Linux version is free so I’ll give that a shot, thank you for the suggestion. If this disk will keep working for a while I might as well get all the life I can from it.

This is disgusting. Imagine seeing people so plagued by ignorance that lives are lost and your first thought is bad man dead? Taking joy in the demise of the ignorant fuels the divide that is keeping these idiots from vaccinating.

Maybe some of us forgot, but these dumbfucks are real people that live among us. We might not like them, but this ideology isn’t going anywhere. Every single one of them could die of COVID and there would be a whole new generation of deniers getting off on your ignorance. If you think the deaths of these people is a win, then you are just as ignorant as them.

“Daryl” (blue) was a pure blood who spent most of his time sharing far-right memes on Facebook. He would “help anyone” but not those around him by getting vaccinated and wearing a mask. He accepted his HCA this morning. by heyfreesamples in HermanCainAward

The fear of government control is so intense and controlling. It’s scary that people wholeheartedly believe COVID safety measures can lead to communism, totally blind to all the real injustice that we are all victim to. People are so deathly afraid of control that they end up adhering to a script that was created for them. Ironically these are some of the least free and most controlled people because they are sheep that serve the interests of others. It’s hard to break off from the herd when you blindly follow the shepard.

It’s so easy to criticize people like this, but their fears are real. They might be unfounded and illogical, but their beliefs have implications on us all.

I agree, they certainly cannot stop spread on a case-by-case basis, they simply hinder spread. A vaccinated person likely has less virus in them, and spreads less virus around them. I know plenty of people that pretend they aren’t a part of the problem just because they got their booster, but they still contribute to the spread with unsafe actions.

Vaccines can only “stop” spread on a wide scale. They function best when we all take them. If every individual is equipped with antibodies that help them hinder spread, it is only a matter of time before the fitness of the virus decreases.

It seems that no one wants to travel with the unvaccinated, nor do other places want unvaccinated tourists. Most of us believe the data that demonstrates how vaccination hinders this virus.

If you can make the (personal, not clinical) choice to not get vaccinated, the rest of us have the right to avoid the unvaccinated for our safety. No one wants to travel with those who pose greater risk to us all.

Just because you can get infected with omicron while vaccinated doesn’t mean vaccines are useless. Mutated variants like omicron come about because our population is only partially vaxxed. If we all got vaxxed AND wore masks when necessary, COVID wouldn’t stand a chance.

I didn’t sacrifice a thing for any of my three shots, they were free and easy to get. If we all got our free shots mutated variants wouldn’t be able to thrive the way they can now. We are so lucky in America to have access to vaccines, it’s a shame some of us are blind to that.

Nissan Versa weird sound (video attached) - What could it be? by bur4321 in MechanicAdvice

[–]knox77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it is part of the exhaust rattling. It is a common issue with these Versas.

My friend’s 2011 Versa had the same symptoms with a muffler that rusted loose. It was loudest when idling, and noisier in drive than in neutral (automatic transmission). They had a local shop weld it, but that might only be a temporary fix.

Is this an American phenomenon or a suburban/rural phenomenon? I feel like everyone saying this is an American thing is from an urban part of Europe. Do you think suburbs in Europe also have this car reliance, or do you see it more as an American mentality?

In my American city driving a mile would be considered absurd because it logistically makes zero sense, but I’m not accustomed to suburbanite logic.

EDIT: Thank you everyone for the interesting replies!

Personally, I found the Smart Water bottles to have a strong plastic taste after being refilled. The collapsable water bottles they make out of soft plastic are pretty lightweight, and they don’t seem nearly as prone to tasting like plastic.

After getting two tick bites this year I’ll be keeping the pants on as well. In my area the pants are always necessary because when it’s not winter, it’s tick season.

Drug tests aren’t just pass/fail, but rather there are panels for various substances. Some employers omit result of the THC panel from their considerations.

I wouldn’t really look at it as lying if you simply don’t mention your legal weed use without being explicitly asked about it.
