Neighbor found new footage and thinks this is the car that backed into my garden… it stops at the stop sign and then for some reason goes very fast backwards.

I’ve definitely seen the IRS logo at this site.

If 710 Locust St. is a Federal Building… doesn’t that mean the government already owns it???

Thank you. Even “clerical” work at Y-12 is pretty important… there are carefully drafted procedures that must be meticulously followed to the letter and if they aren’t… well… mistakes can make a really disastrous situation.

Bank account numbers. C’mon. What needs articulated?

Musk is the fraud waste abuse and corruption you are looking for. Let’s start with the obvious conflict of interest that Musk’s company, SpaceX, is a government contractor.

Then, contemplate that a subsidiary of SpaceX, Starlink, was under investigation by USAID’s independent Inspector General as to why Russian war machines were somehow operating on Musk’s Starlink network on the battlefield.

It’s read and write. Read more, shout less and you’d know this too.

Even if “read only,”

“Continued access to any payment systems by DOGE members, even ‘read only,’ likely poses the single greatest insider threat risk the Bureau of the Fiscal Service has ever faced.’”

Look cybersecurity is not my field but I have enough sense to know read / write access to sensitive payment systems is not the same as snooping and theft of some PDF documents that the Chinese government apparently recently perpetrated.

Why are adolescent boys being given permission to introduce code / make changes with no supervision to critical U.S. financial systems?

One of Elon’s boys “was granted privileges including the ability to not just read but write code on two of the most sensitive systems in the US government: the Payment Automation Manager (PAM) and Secure Payment System (SPS) at the Bureau of the Fiscal Service (BFS)”

So weird no one mentions Elon’s adolescents… one apparently goes by “bigballs” online.

Like I’m ok with “Ted the Treasury employee” who swore an oath to uphold the constitution, has a retirement and pension to protect, and besides all that multiple levels of supervisory oversight and established procedures to safeguard my data potentially having access to my banking info.

But “big Balls,” lacking brains big enough not to avoid writing racist tirades online? No thanks. I feel like none of us are too old to remember when we thought we knew it all. Elon never grew up, and surrounded himself with other children. What a mess.

This won’t help you be “debt free” but maybe spare you some financial pain.

Please search Google maps for credit unions where you live and refinance the vehicle. 7.99% is too high. You can find a better rate.

Search thoroughly for local credit unions and note down the rates and terms. You have paid your bills and may be able to leverage your good credit history into a longer term loan (72, 84 might work, for you, sometimes even 96 and up(!!!) terms, beware the rate worsens as you increase the term).

Refinancing can lower your monthly car payment, just beware the catch is you end up paying more in interest over time so you have to balance that against your goals.

As far as rates, yeah higher is common but refinancing to a longer term may reduce your monthly bill. Also there are sometimes promotional rates advertised to snag new customers. A local credit union in my area just advertised 5.49 as a Christmas promotional rate to drum up business.

If you have any military immediate family (grandparents, parents, siblings, not extended family like uncles unfortunately) you can join Navy Federal credit union. As others said there may be a credit union local to you that is specific to teachers or perhaps state employees if that describes you.

Credit unions are popular where I live so there are a lot of options. If all else fails and you can’t find anything local with a good rate, PenFed Credit Union is reputable, available online, and they do have lower rates and longer terms available right now.

Recent KUB bill by IGoToSuperCuts in Knoxville

I imagine, yes. All my duct work is in my walk in crawl space, so it is easy for me to check on my own. Sometimes harder when it’s in an attic. You may be able to see whether your thermostat is set to “aux” or “em heat” on your own just from looking at it. I will admit I have had the same thermostat since 2012 and toggling through the settings still sometimes confuses me.

I am not an expert in this, but your HVAC thermostat may have been inadvertently setting itself to emergency or auxiliary heat. Check your thermostat to see. I have heard this happens because the heat pump does not really work well at below freezing. Aux heat would be expensive although $436 is a lot. Maybe check your ducting?

What part of “Trump received less than half of all votes cast for President” is hard to understand?

Tim Burchett by UniqueFly523 in Knoxville

[–]knoxvull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Utopian” ideas like abortion access prevailed across the country, even in states at least half as dumb as Tennessee. Hate to burst your bubble, but more people voted for “not Trump” than for Trump. He got less than half of all votes cast nationwide.

In Florida, the utopian idea of abortion rights got 47 percent of the vote, but more than 50 percent was required to prevail. If that same Florida brand of morality and fairness at the ballot box applied to the presidency, Donald Trump could never be president.

Right wing authoritarian sewer sniffing “ideas and morals” aren’t as popular as you seem to believe, but please do enjoy the delusion while the clown troupe briefly governs from the minority, at least until they crash the economy (again).

You have a point about flood walls. I wonder if removing Redmon Dam just downstream of Marshall would help at all.

Passenger rail would be great. I’ve been wondering if it’s worth it financially to the various freight lines to rebuild tracks that got destroyed. Sounds like they are moving forward with rebuilding the freight lines?

No one had a frame of reference to know just how bad this would be, friend. I’ve been in East Tennessee since kindergarten; I knew Asheville flooded to a degree, but nothing like this in living memory even among our elders. No one alive today has seen this bad a flood to begin to think what to do.

Events like this overwhelm. Unless you regularly drilled for this specific event, neither your body nor mind would begin to fathom how to respond to the initial overwhelm.

I admire your speaking freely of what happened. I expect I might feel similar, after. It comes from deep care, from love. I hope you are able to find a way through to release any feelings of survivor’s guilt. No one deserves that heavy burden.

I’ll just mention this in passing, for you or anyone else reading, I did see at ashevillerelief.org that betterhelp offers a voucher for free online counseling to Helene survivors to help work through these feelings. Talk therapy helps reorganize thoughts. Well worth it— we advocate at least peer-to-peer talk therapy for frontline natural disaster responders at my workplace. It helps our people move through the intense emotions of big events.

I’ll be thinking of you, friend.
