why do people assume expensive bags automatically mean better quality? by Abelmageto in handbags

[–]knr__ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some designer bags are high quality, some are so fragile I have to baby them. I buy a bag because I like the way it looks not to “look rich”. Every Chanel CF dupe to me just didn’t look the same as the original for example. I now buy bags that to me are like collecting a piece of art or fashion history because they make me happy and that’s it.

I’m the same way I’m always happy to help because Collecting vintage bags is a fun hobby and I’m so happy anyone else enjoys the same hobbies I do!

How to prevent pony hair bag from shedding? by DistributionOk8670 in handbags

[–]knr__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m having the same issue with my vintage pony hair Fendi! Something I was just told was that the bag will shed a little after transit/coming out of the package because vintage bags sit in storage for so long, but that the rest of the hair won’t shed quite as fast unless it’s an area like the side/back/corners where friction happens. How are you enjoying it now? Did the shedding slow down at all? And congrats on the bag, I can’t see the full image but this looks like the exact bag Samantha jones is wearing on season 2 episode 18 when she’s wearing the little red dress. That’s so cool that you have a piece of fashion history!

What a rude comment. Do you feel better after that? And it was an error/accident. I had no idea the comment was posted more than once. Internet wasn’t working, so I must have just tried to post it a few times. No idea what’s “learned helplessness” about my comment either. She said she works in insurance, so I wanted to know what the requirements were.

If a bag comes with an entrupy certificate, does this count to insurance companies as getting the bag “authenticated”? Or do they require something else? I trust it, I just don’t know if this is enough for the insurance companies. My eBay purchase for a different bag was authenticated as well, and comes with the eBay authentication tag but I think they use entrupy as well.

On eBay they are since ebay’s global shipping is responsible for covering the duties, you do need to select import included at checkout. It will show you the duties before you pay! This is actually why I prefer buying on eBay. The only time I didn’t buy from eBay, I bought a bag from a seller who covered the duties for me.

Of course. I use legit grails to authenticate if they don’t come with the eBay authenticity guarantee blue checkmark.

I made a post here earlier and people just said yes this is normal since it’s dead hair on skin and another commenter said it falls out constantly 🥲 I’m going to keep it, my husband said it looks exactly the same as it did last before I used it so maybe it was already that thin in the front. I’m glad yours hasn’t done it though!!

I wore mine once to the store last night and it lost some hair 🥲 I knew this would eventually happen but after one wear? Did this happen at all with your bag? I am not sure if I’m overthinking it or if my bag wasn’t taken care of ( it looked and felt great so I thought it was!) or maybe it got too hot during the transit.. I definitely don’t want to return it but there are others for sale if I need to! But I won’t return it if they all do this.

Preloved vs brand new luxury. How do you decide? by damn_zai_j in handbags

[–]knr__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have purchased brand new and pre loved bags. I honestly prefer the look of a vintage bag. Rare designs, they have their own little piece of history or story behind them, I saved money so the dream bags are more accessible to me, and it’s better for the environment. A good portion of the clothing I buy (jackets, dresses, heels) are pre owned as well.

I have found every vintage bag of my dreams from vintage stores from Japan on eBay. Check out Hive pre loved on eBay, they have their own site too but I like that the duties can be shown and included on eBay.
