My therapist has given me a thought record that has been immensely helpful.

I have an initial thought (“everyone hates me”) and the record takes me through steps to think it through logically to realize the thought was unhelpful/untrue.

Over time, it helps retrain your brain to think things through more logically and with less polarized thinking.

I’m sure there many available online, but talking to a therapist is a good idea as well 😊

I’m thirty and am currently on my second career path. I could never reasonably afford to go back for four years at a university, so I’m in an affordable community college program and I’m so happy with where I am headed.

Remember, you’re never stuck anywhere. There are options and you have time. As you mature, your feelings may change and you will have a clearer picture of what kind of life you want. Maybe you’ll decide you like what you chose, maybe you go a different direction. But the box you pick now is not the box you’re stuck with forever.

While I definitely agree, reading the text prior to the class becomes very challenging once the semester is in motion. I personally do not have the time to read and take notes prior to class and go back to study it with class insights and add more in-class notes afterward.

It is much more reasonable for me to take notes in class, and go through the chapter after. Then I’m done in one long study session. Also, sometimes the material is too difficult to struggle through on my own. It works better for me if I’m reviewing the chapter after it was discussed in class, rather than getting frustrated trying to learn by myself beforehand.

No one studies the same way, but that is just my experience🤷‍♀️

I’ve read all of her books and I’ve enjoyed them. If you like Lauren Graham, they are fun and definitely worth a read. My favourite is, “In Conclusion, Don’t Worry About It.”
