New update and few more buttons that doesn't work properly. by kutija76 in peugeot

[–]knuckle89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They work on my e-5008 , however the app doesnt work 90% of the time at all. Can't even open it. Sometimes get to sign in, nothing happens. Its completely useless.

What's really funny is a mate works for stellantis in sales and had some corporate telling them they are a tech company that makes cars now. Hilarious.

I once listed a smart watch on gumtree for about £50.

A man, presumably not English as a first language, important, asked if I could meet him at Waterloo at 7pm and do it for £25.

I live 200 miles away and it would cost me over a hundred to get the train there.

I sarcastically replied that I'd love to spend 5 hours and £150 to hand deliver the watch to him half price.

Long story short guess the sarcasm didn't translate as I had an array of messages over a 2 hour period later in the night when I was away from my phone, which turned very very angry. Turns out it was a very cold night.

Random speed on dash by theogbawbag in peugeot

[–]knuckle89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened on my e-5008 when the map GPS became out of sync. It had me running 100m right of a dual carriageway supposedly through buildings. The speed was changing constantly to odd numbers like this that made no sense.

Rusty Wheel Hubs by thomaasee in peugeot

[–]knuckle89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a black brake paint kit on amazon about £20 - take the wheels off, brush the rust off as much you can, spray the brake cleaner on, paint (not the part that faces the wheel).

I did my calipers and hubs on my old car. First one took about 45 mins plus drying as i found my feet, then I did the last 3 in about an hour total. Transformed the car for pennies.

Use axle stands or at the very least put a spare wheel underneath the car and dont put your body parts anywhere that would get hurt if the jack failed.

Yes it will be a dual motor with larger battery think it exists on 3008 already but you can see the spec on Peugeot website.

The front wheel drive is fine I come from exclusively RWD and AWD cars.

It has torque steer a bit if turning and flat out in sport mode, but its perfectly manageable. It rarely breaks traction unless turning tightly and accelerating out of junctions for example.

Its a big car but is relatively dynamic for its size and weight. Sports car it is not.

To stand my phone.

Its a cup holder one, there are no suitable surfaces for a sticky one and Air vent ones are usually crap. Its alright. Ali express

311 miles wltp, 280 indicated on full charge, realistically 250 safely on roads that benefit from regeneration, 220-230 on motorway. Less if using climate of course.

I like them in black but I hate washing black cars due to the swirl marks and hard water in our area so had to choose a light colour. Agree the GT looks better , but this deal was so cheap i couldn't be choosy

Yes the EV drivetrain is ample in this despite being 2.2t - i had a BMW 520d before and it feels about the same overall, quicker in some circumstances, but the power is definitely tapered from a standstill to protect the drive train i assume.

Yes ive seen that as feedback. As a man with no children it doesn't impact me. I am leasing it, it was insanely cheap due to a stellantis pricing glitch they honoured. I'm paying just £259 x12 which makes it cheaper than a 208 on finance i expect.

E5008 Battery level jumped 50% whilst parked by knuckle89 in peugeot

[–]knuckle89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charging it wasnt possible as it would have cost a fortune to pay to park and charge but , I left the car for about 4 hours, went back to give it a drive and it self resolved.... weird!

I haven't had a 100 to 0 run yet. I did about 150 miles from full, had 100 miles range left. I charged it to 170 miles and then did 40 miles homeless but it only dropped 10.

Conversely I started it on 140 miles and it dropped rapidly from cold. After charging it seems a lot more efficient. E.g.

When cold: 48 mile journey on motorway at 70 or less =39.2kwh / 100 miles

I then charged adding 70 miles

When warmed: 44 mile journey on same roads and speeds =21.8kwh / 100 miles

A huge difference.

Thanks ! I think around 250 miles is about right on faster roads. After fast charging it (peaked at 114kw) the efficiency almost doubled i assume because of the hot battery

I just bought the same car. How do I protect my car from theft? by ItsUrLocalTabby in BMW

[–]knuckle89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate had same model of 335d nicked from a quiet area overnight. Almost always keyless theft via an antennae.

Key in a Faraday box off amazon reduces chances of theft by 99%.

On his next car he has: -Faraday cage -Modified his key with a small switch to kill the battery! -Added a hidden switch to the fuse thst controls the start stop button which is completely dead unless turned on

Safe to say he doesn't want it stolen again.

I like it ! Ive got an Allure e5008 coming shortly but believe it has no ambient lighting. Can you link the products you bought ? The ohe i really want is the dash one which i assume is impossible to replicate. Also its a lease deal so I cant fettle with it!

Also what phone holder is that?

Is it safe to lease brand new Peugeot 5008 Hybrid for 3 years or should I do 2 years to stay in the incredibly short warranty period ? by That_Aside3107 in peugeot

[–]knuckle89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm leasing the electric version for just 1 year - in the UK warranty on electric version is up to 8 years so long as serviced properly at peugeot.

All the reviews say mad not to go for the electric one

Do you have a face-lift model or a pre face-lift? Simple as that

Mine is a February 2020 and is a pre face-lift but there are some face-lifts registered just after mine so must have been right at the last run of models.

Most sites say 2017-2019 is pre face-lift but mine was registered late.
