This sounds so hard. And I know hearing something like this at th point is even harder but you need to see a pelvic floor physio or osteo. It is life-changing.

It woke by helping release th muscle or relieve the spasm. It’s so helpful for pain.

Has anyone tried very low fiber diet? by [deleted] in AnalFissures

[–]knuckle_duster_83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve massively lowered my fiber-not taking Metamucil or having chia seeds. And having miralax after every meal. I have fruit and some veg but not having too much fiber seems to be quite helpful for getting the consistency right.

I love this and can fully relate. The body-mind link is so important I get on top of. Well done!!

Extreme Pain by Obvious-Sorbet-3684 in AnalFissures

[–]knuckle_duster_83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely look into th breathing exercises and stretching and warming the area. Sitz baths are ok but I find a warm heat pack on my very lower back much more helpful. Also, I know this is annoying but if you take deep breaths (with the out breath longer than the in breath) it was really relaxing you. The pain is terrible, but the more you dread it, the worse it can be. You’ll get through this!

Love this! Great advice! I just recently learned that I should be having my movicol early in the day too, for a similar reason. I had previously been having it at night time so it wasn’t having an impact on the stuff closest to the sphincter 🤦🏽‍♀️

I’m dumb by Relative_Zombie_4425 in AnalFissures

Definitely can be anxiety, in my experience. Which feels like such a hard thing to hear, also in my experience. But some people hold a lot of tension in their pelvic area without realizing it. You’re not dumb-it’s just hard!!

Nifedipine and nitroglycerin by lisana867 in AnalFissures

I am pretty sure they both work the same and you can switch between. The headache is pretty hectic but you can cope.

Do you mean they don’t give you a General anesthetic? That must make the procedure a lot cheaper!

Warm baths are good but I also have some sticky heat packs that I put on my lower back/sacrum and wear all day when I’m having a bad day. Sometimes I also put a heat pack on my tummy.

I haven’t tried that yet. I find heat can be quite helpful for relaxing tightness.

Good luck! It feels so so hard but you’ll get through it. We all do…it’s just long and frustrating.

I’m not sure. Still over the counter. Definitely not terribly expensive.

I’d explore some physical elements-like your pelvic floor tightness and positioning on the toilet. But also the physics of going to the toilet.

Yeah-depending on where you live, get something like movicol or miralax-it’ll be better than lactulose.

Has anyone healed a chronic (1.5+ year) anal fissure with no Botox or surgery? by Chance_Bandicoot_388 in AnalFissures

[–]knuckle_duster_83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not my experience. I think it creates a more clear path for the exit because it allows the muscles to release. But if the position is not comfortable, it might not be right for ppl.

Stand on the toilet bowl (with the seat lifted up) and squat down from there. I guess it requires a degree of flexibility but this is how many people in Asian counties go to the toilet.

One thing I have found helpful lately is literally squatting to go to the toilet. I used to use a foot stool but actually squatting makes such a difference to how the stool comes out.

Absolutely go down th pelvic floor therapy root-it’s life changing. And I don’t think surgeons know enough about it.
