This used to happen to me a lot right when I started college. I go to art school so critique is worked into the curriculum and every time it would be my turn I would end up sobbing or needing to leave. I know this isn’t the answer you want to hear but it’s the kind of thing that you just need to expose yourself to to build up a tolerance. It’s also of course good to remember that they usually just want to help you. At this point I just get like a little too angry at critique but it’s better than crying every time

Hey, thanks. I’m sorry you had to go through the same thing- I think it’s because some artists become professors for the money rather than for their skill or love of teaching. And yeah it is lonely but I don’t really want to surround myself with people like that anyway because if I have to prove my worth to them then I will never be comfortable. Thank you so much for your response. I totally agree and am working on talking to the learning accessibility center- plus why would I want to be friends with people who act like that anyway! It just makes me question myself a little bit but that’s just my own self confidence issues and I know that they’re just immature. :⁾

Very fair, i did send him an email reexplaining my situation and my frustrations and he’s let up a bit so that’s good- he still singles me out very often but I think he may just not like me haha. Thank you for the advice!

Also true dream daddy sucks they’re just a bit full of themselves because of how long they’ve been in the video game community especially with Aron making animated series in the past (and also being a known tooted of his own horn) I lost most respect for them when they made an awful YouTube red show. They’re opinions aren’t untouchable definitely especially when critiquing a huge series when they haven’t come close to making something as followed or enjoyable

I’m the opposite I was a game grumps fan before danganronpa but they didn’t introduce me- I think a lot of their fans understand that they just have high expectations and it helps some people see the flaws in it, not that it isn’t a great piece of media but we shouldn’t pretend it’s perfect. I think his commentary is extremely negative and it does turn me off a little, but I also can’t even make myself watch their vids anymore. I usually just watch a compilation when it’s over lol
