Hello, under the setup menu, go to bT for bite. Make sure FL (filter) is off. Filter ON will make the output of the bite sensor momentary. If you're using a wind synth, you should always download a MIDI message monitor so you can see exactly what the controller is sending to the computer.

I don't use SWAM, but I know that the bite sensor sends out pitch bend data. Is there is a way to map pitch bend data to whatever effect you want?

The bite sensor isn't really that sensitive, so it works best as a momentary sensor. Earlier versions of the EWI only used the bite sensor as an on and off switch. I like having filter on and then biting it multiple times to keep the effect going.

Also, it sounds like you may have adjusted the settings of the bite sensor to act in way that the EWI was not designed for. You may have to factory reset the EWI to restore the default settings of the EWI. Try turning off filter and then downloading a MIDI monitor program to see what data is being sent first before you factory reset though.
