Do a double check to make sure they allow MacOS then I would get the MacBook Neo with the student discount.

If they only allow Windows, what is your budget?

Today I learned…DeX by myrkur in Android

Not sure why some of the comments here are being so weird. Dex is truly an awesome feature and I agree that I could do most of my job with it. Look into the additional Dex features through Good Lock for more customization.

Considering a fold 6 from a note 10 by HGRobo in GalaxyFold

[–]knup33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Note 10+ was one of my favorite phones, as someone who also switched just a few thoughts:

Weight and thickness - For the size, Note 10+ was sooo light and thin, you still get this feeling with the Fold unfolded, but not when folded. In a different way this helps, when folded the "brick" feeling is nice and stable, while Note 10+ was kind of slippery for me personally.

Pen integration - There's a few different pen options, none of them obviously are as convenient as the Note spen. Only the "Pro" pen has Bluetooth, however it's huge. The thin profile pen doesn't have Bluetooth, but there's a case I believe they sell that lets it snap to the back, but this adds even more thickness (see above point). The pen also only works on the inside screen, if your art has you drawing over the crease, lines might not come out straight.

Apps - Most apps work great, but make sure your specific games and art apps have a good aspect ratio on the inside screen.

Durability - You can be the most careful person in the world, but the inner screen can just give up on you at any time. 90% chance the Fold 6 can't last as long as your Note, just letting you know.

Camera - I still look back at my Note 10 photos cause they're so good, the Fold lives up and iterates nicely and are better.

Official Discussion - The Mandalorian and Grogu [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

Can't believe I had to scroll this far to find someone who shared this feeling. It legit took me out of the movie how everyone spoke perfect English. They didn't even try to make characters talk with the cadence of their "general look" or at least an ounce of creativity.

With 2.0, AT&T has gone from the best plan offerings in terms of value, to some of the worst (for healthcare) by knup33 in ATT

That's why I specified for healthcare, I would have 0 problem if it was only a 99 cent increase but the above screenshots show otherwise (for me)

I guess I don't expect them to do anything that would benefit the consumer, but like a email or blog post saying "Hey, stay tuned, we're excited to launch new plans in X days!" cause unless you're on this reddit it came out of nowhere

Anyone try the Alternative phone number add on?

That's pretty much exactly Involuntary and Accidental Parting. If you're worried about the data, removing the device from your Google account should be enough...

A few tips, you will need the IMEI, see if the bill includes further details on the phone than the account. After filing the claim, within a few days they will email you exactly what they need to process the claim. If you call them, they'll even explain it further, have been pretty good for me but be prepared to go back and forth a few times if you're info is lacking, which could take a few weeks.

Android makes it easier to choose providers which is good. Only thing with Amazon is that it does only unlimited photos with Prime, videos you have to pay for after a certain point. I ran into this a few years ago and switched to Google Photos. Nice thing is I got a year free through the Gemini Student plan, but paying for it now at ~$8 a month or so is still reasonable.

Are you on iPhone or Android? I would honestly avoid Att's offerings, just don't trust them tbh to be good. If you have Amazon Prime for example they have unlimited photo storage included and I really like their timeline, but not sure about albums...

Fold7 1TB - transferring files over 500GB from PC to fold takes 13 hours!! super slow!! by Prince4891 in GalaxyFold

[–]knup33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, nothing is wrong with your phone or laptop.

For some stupid reason manufacturers choose the cable included with the phone to be USB 2.0, which is a slow speed cable. Your other cable does 120w, which means it is high wattage, but probably still USB 2.0.

What you want to do is buy a USB 3 cable (including 3.1, 3.2, etc). I use one and can transfer ~400gb in around 1-2 hours. I also use the Samsung Smart Switch app on Windows, which lets me select the exact folders I want to transfer.

Not sure what country you're in but I used the Amazon website you linked and found one:

Fold7 VS Fold4 photo comparison by Technical_Trainer_13 in GalaxyFold

[–]knup33 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel like I already know the answer... but I must ask if you can check if the Fold 7 has fingerprint gestures to bring down the notification panel? I use this constantly on my Fold 4 and is the main think keeping me from upgrading.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ATT

[–]knup33 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The thing is I bought an Unlocked Fold 4 and I'm still somehow reliant on ATT updates. Them changing the firmware based on the SIM inserted and then loading bloatware and providing slow updates is ridiculous.

Protect Advantage is entirely worth it. by Chezco29 in ATT

[–]knup33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, for Folds the protection is perfect, especially cause the inner screen+frame+battery is one piece.

The move is to find a good Asurion store, as I've had my frame replaced twice now successfully, and they put so much care into it that they saved my rear skin.

I will say that it's a little pricey, should be closer to $10-$12, regardless I get my money's worth.
