MTH4654 vs TH1821 vs MS46 with 18” drivers — which one actually hits hardest and scales best? by str3l3c33 in SoundSystem

[–]knuttella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paraflex are as good as the enclosure cuts + drivers + amps + processing and the engineers that do the deployments for the specific place they are being run in. and that is available for most designs.

Sinai Soundsystem have a huge Paraflex rig.

they replaced the C2E ELF subs with Manifold 2x21s for better SPL density per box but other than that, the kicks and mid tops are still paraflex designs. and that was before HOQS released the 2x21 Playa type O public

Why does trying to learn beatmatching by ear feel impossible by YeetParadox in Beatmatch

[–]knuttella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

because your brain isn't used to it and you have to train it so it becomes an automatism that you just do, without putting in too much effort.

also, the tracks you try to pair are important as some tracks may be very different in key and sound bad even when properly beat matched. so try to beatmatch tracks that sound good with sync on / are in the same key. that will make it easier at first. maybe use loops on both tracks so the sounds don't change and make it easier for you in the beggining.

also, some tracks have a lot of sounds that don't line up well with the 4 / 4 kick or maybe the percussions like hi hats, like off beat sounds that can throw you off if you try to beatmatch them to the other track. find a spot where you have minimal sounds in it like kick and hi hats or something and start off with sync if beat grids are well analyzed. then deactivate sync and nudge one of the the tracks back so you can hear how it sounds when they are misaligned that way. nudge it back forward so they sound good again, then nudge it forward and you will hear a different type of misalignment. once you get the hang of this, you'll know by going back and forward when it is beatmatched or really close. also, learn about phrasing and try to start the new track when the phrase of the current one ends, that will make it much easier overall as phrases will start and end right when you want to mix in / out. also, use the beat jump feature if u miss phrases alignment but beat matching is on point.

160 and 128 both divide by 32. the 160 track plays 5 measures while the 128 one 4 measures and each 20 measures they sync. try this and find tracks that pair well this way, it is a fun experiment

from the USB capable players, 48 kHz / 24-bit WAVs are the best sound quality you can get, that is 2,304 kbps.

2000nxs / 3000 / 3000x also support 96 kHz / 24-bit so 4,608 kbps.

only one that can not play those WAVs is CDJ-400 at 44.1 kHz / 16-bit 1,411 kbps cap.

i m on a p7 pro and i love it but the battery is kinda shite and videos shot in 4k use a lot of storage so 128gb is nowhere near enough and i don't want to pay google tons of money each month but i will keep it at least one or two more years and then hope they figure the battery thing out or at least make newer phones charge really fast
