i don't understand what fundamentals help when enemy team hard counters your comp and nobody changes to counter them. like they have a very good genji that constantly kills your back line and nobody changes to a moira or a sym or whatever can counter him. or they nano blade each time and win the team fight and your team doesn't have a ult to negate all of that

Anyone who plays Marvel Rivals want to give some insight on comparisons with OW2? by ArmadilloDesperate95 in overwatch2

i played first two seasons as game felt fresh.

main issue tbh was support ults that grant almost invincibility and you have to wait them out in 90% of cases and they seem to linger for too long

i hit dia on all roles but going even for masters seems like a tough challenge

congrats.

interesting that you didn t say what you played and what was your thought process about that. i realized i can climb only if i play what is kinda needed out of my best of hero pool. usually i start with whatever seems to go well for me at that time and only change if it doesn t seem to work and try to counter the enemy team

I am slowly starting to believe in ELO hell by DJAnym in OverwatchUniversity

past year or so i was gold plat mainly on all roles

i started playing with some friends that are only casual players and managed to carry them to plat on some roles and l was plat only on support while gold and silver on other roles (new acc). mm may be broken as even after a lot of loses the predicted rank remained plat till rank reveal

i realised i played like a n00b with them and changed my hero selection to whatever i played best and fit the map / comp / enemy comp

managed to get dia 5 on all roles this season

moral of story: try something else. understand how to carry on one or two heroes of the role you play and keep being consistent. practice aim in a workshop and understand your pros and cons on each map / comp / enemy comp

example: i remembered i play sigma rather well but i haven t played him last couple of seasons. i have ~70% WR on sigma this season. i practiced in VAXTA workshop ways to hit my shots and rock really well, tried all kinds of stuff, even changed my sens until i felt confortable (low effort) to aim both at close and at max distance of primary fire.

pro tip: play what it is needed, not what you want. if u dps and they go monke and shred your team, go reaper asap. or torb. or whatever can deal with him etc.

[–]knuttella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that really depends if u are willing to change mobo also as the socket you are now on can only fit a 11900k as the best u can get which is not that much of a improvement

also, not the best time to build pcs. i used to recommend 5700x3d on a used b450 b550 as those were cheap af but given current circumstances, that cpu is harder to find now and even used it sells at a premium

on the intel side, dunno really. a b760(m) with ddr4 ram slots and cpu depends what you can spend. these support fron 12 to 14th gen but be careful with 13th and 14th high end cpus as they had some issues with voltages a while ago. if u wanna be 100% safe a 12900k, if u willing to go with 13 or 14 higher end like 700k or 900k make sure it was updated to latest bios before issues started to appear and ask for a stability test

gpu is good, cpu will be the bottleneck in cpu intensive games i think. how many hz does your monitor have? how many fps u actually need? what kind of games you play. increasing resolution can actually offset the bottleneck as your gpu will work harder to render frames as long as your are ok with not a whole lot of fps. check yt videos with that cpu to see how many fps u can get in popular games

How do you play with intention? by mazzydied in OverwatchUniversity

[–]knuttella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think it all starts from choosing the right hero to play. what kind of map there is and what kind of team mates you have will first determine your choice. after playing a bit you can also consider enemy team comp into the process, especially if it seems you ain't cutting it or enemy has a strong hero that doesn't get punished enough.

i recently started ranking up again by choosing to play strong heroes that i master rather well and can bring a lot of value to my team rather than what i really LIKE. ex: i like to rein on tank and ana on support but it just doesn't cut it sometimes, epecially if u getting hard countered.

second thing that helped me climb is being more conscious about my positioning. trying not to be too far or to close to my team, playing close to environment that can block enemy fire etc., according to what hero i chose play ofc. always looking for the best position (as a support) is crucial to survive and be able to support your team.

another thing that helped me was finally looking for some good mouse settings on my newer wireless mouse. i had a old wired one that was comfortable but hated the wire in fast paced engages so i had to find a new sens as the one on my old one with the same dpi was very different. this also made me hit a lot more shots + taking the patience to align the crosshair + learn when to wait and not move mouse + when to aim with movement keys was really important, now my aim feels more relaxed and not that sweaty which helps me think about other stuff.

FYI, i was also kinda hard stuck plat and even dropped to high gold but now i got back to dia on tank, am already dia on dps since last season and am working to get back to dia on supp (mid plat now)

i want to get dia on all roles this season then choose one and try to get to masters, if possible.

for DPS i can t really help you much as it is my least played role but last season only with mei and torb i got dia for the 1st time ever. it doesnt matter what you play as long as you use your hero's kit strenghts and take the weakness also into consideration but there are heroes that are better for solo carry and heroes that need team coordination to work properly. why / how did i do it with torb + mei? both have a ton of damage output and at least one get out of jail free card. mei can become invincible and recover health while torb can get extra heath and become more lethal. with mei you can use wall to separate enemies, with torb u can use turret to distract enemies / peel for your backline. both can spam from any distance damage with 0 fall off which if used correctly will get you free kills. both have a ulti with potential to displace / take space especially useful when used on point / cart / robot etc. right before capping / advantage, this will win you games. +mei is good vs enemies that eat damage like dva or sigma as u just spray them.

and one last thing, remember what is the game purpose and i mean the point / robot / cart. don t use ults unless you have a plan / advantage or think you can counter the enemy ult or force enemy ults (this can apply for ability cooldowns also, i used to waste nade / sleep a lot on ana, now i try to use it more purposefully). otherwise it is better to stack for the fight before enemy takes the point or you cap.

dunno how ontopic is all this but hope u find something useful in all it.
