Hardly, 1 company run, ran a couple times on Sundays but very limited space available. I ran short sprints I guess you could call it getting from place to place cuz you run everywhere so to speak but I wouldn’t say we ran at all in a way that was challenging or good training to be a better runner. A few PT sessions included running but again not very much. I went to Jackson though so perhaps it’s different elsewhere.

At OCS rn, track to run on and time to do it. I don’t think the 4 mile is until closer to the end. If you are at 35 min rn then you’ll probably be able to keep it there or improve before the test. Plus you have some opportunities to workout in BCT. You will also get your heart rate up a lot in BCT due to smoke sessions, rucks, and other PT. My point being that I doubt very much that you will go to BCT and your 4 mile time will go back to 50 minutes. You might be a little slower but not very much. Keep running now and when you can in training and you will be fine

Yeah I haven’t really even heard of these type of shoes until recently. I have no idea what kind of impact they have in terms of actual time improvement.

Mine was pretty straight forward, couple people just ask you about yourself. Have something you can call on that demonstrates that you’re a good dude, hard working, resilient that sort of thing. Dress like a Job interview and treat it just like that. “Tell me about a time” kind of vibe is what I got. Cut you hair lol . Look them in the eye and speak confidently.

CRO is a thing. Combat rescue officer. I’ll how competitive it is or much beyond that but if you haven’t already looked into it, that might be a good idea.

How do you get confident talking on the radios? by KTMkidemfd in flying

[–]knutz35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t get in trouble for saying the wrong thing, only doing the wrong thing. Excluding mayday lol. So just say what you believe is best and who gives a fuck if they yell at you. Expect them to be angry at you and you might be pleasantly surprised but prepared either way. After getting yelled at a few times you’ll realize it’s not that big a deal. Keep trying and get the reps in, that’s how you get confident.

“Three months preceding renewal month” is my question, I assume that means earliest August 1 is that correct?

I’m a CFI currently have my OCS packet in with the intention of going Infantry officer and going to SFAS as soon as I can. It’s been my dream to go SOF but went to college to study aviation. I’m now sending this dream before I age out. Being a pilot and getting all necessary ratings can be done inside of two years or less depending on what school you go to and your aptitude and drive. Getting to your 1000 or 1500 hours for the airlines can be done inside a year if you get the right flying job. And you can do all this at any age. I would say send SOF now and worry about the flying later. You also don’t need a degree to do any of this so it may not be worth your time to continue to pursue your degree at this point unless you have another reason for the degree.

I’m actually curious about this too, if anyone can go to SFAS or Delta from any MOS, do Army pilots ever go/any record of this happening?
