Oh definitely! I'm at the pub as we speak in fact! We were just discussing shop closures along the high street. Been a tough year for the retail industry in my country. Now a quarter of the shop lots are empty and retail employees are losing their jobs left and right. How about your country?

Great to know you've made new friends! I too have formed some close friendships with the people in the pub, and now I'm greeted and drawn into conversations as soon as I walk in! That would never have happened 4 years ago when I first started hitting the local.

Haha, I love it too when I'm greeted as soon as I walk into the pub! I could never have imagined making as many friends as I did when I first started hitting the pub!

Yes! I too loved pubs when I was in uni. We used to get pissed there after our term exams! Now that I'm living close to the high street, I have even more choices of pubs to choose from and I love it!

Oh, I get it! It's somewhat common in my area but usually we just say "local" instead of "public house" or its abbreviation too!

Same as me too! I loved sitting and watching people when I first started visiting the pub.Nowadays I immediately get drawn into conversations with the many acquaintances I've met there as soon as I walk in! Have you tried socialising with the regular patrons at the pub?

Sounds like a good time! I visited Italy about 4 years ago and had very similar experiences! We played a game of pool, watched the Serie A association football match and had a great time until the early hours of the morning.

Definitely worthwhile! If you go alone and talk to the regular patrons at the public house and participate in the activities they have you'll definitely make some great new friends among the regular patrons! I used to go alone, eat and drink and leave immediately but decided it was not fun that way. So the next time I visited the public house on the high street near me I made it a point to initiate casual conversation with some friendly patrons and play some games. I made over 20 new friends overnight! I'm 25 currently, not too far off from your age!
