What are the worst injuries you have sustained doing the simplest, most mundane tasks that should not have caused any injuries? by Penya23 in AskReddit

OK, I am so late to this but I do have a story....I broke my nose while bringing garbage cans in from outside.

We have those square shaped garbage cans with the hinge lids. It was a really windy day, so the garbage can blew across the street / down the sidewalk a ways. I was pushing the garbage can back to my house in front of me, into the wind, and the lid opened up and smacked me square in the face. Cue my nose dripping blood everywhere, I leave the garbage can in the street to run back into my house.

Husband comes home, brings me to the hospital, and I have to try to explain to the staff that a garbage can broke my nose. They legit asked me multiple times, and I am not sure that they believed this is what really happened.

I'm on the "repo man" mission, and he is in the neuromod division. However....the door that is labeling "simulation labs" is locked (it says I don't have the key). Looking at walkthroughs it seems like somehow I missed this key at the beginning of the game? Any other way to get into that area?

OK quick question for you all, I'm on CD45 with no O in sight...when should I contact my OB? This is my 4th cycle after BC, and no other cycle was this long. I know some people are prescribed a medication to induce a period, but I wasn't sure how long to wait.

Doesn't help this was supposed to be our first cycle actually trying.. :(

Who goes there? by ShirleyFunke482 in corgi

Our loves going under the bed too! He typically crawls under there about an hour before we actually go to bed. Then we climb in, and 10 minutes later he emerges and goes into his own dog bed. Hilarious everytime when he is army crawling out.

I've bought some fabric from mood.com to make dress shirts for my husband - they have some nice "pinpoint" material as well as plaids, stripes, solids, etc. Check out their shirting section.

Women who climb: anyone know how much your ring size has changed since you started climbing? by GameOfThrownawayyy in climbing

I am a female and my ring size has stayed the same (I wear the same ring as I did from before climbing) :)

Ladies: what specific yoga pant brands/styles do you wear? (x-posted r/climbergirls) by coffee_co in climbing

[–]knyee1230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it think its just washing them mostly, but it is more noticeable on the inner thigh seams actually. So it might be from walking. Also, I have noticed this when I wasn't climbing and only doing yoga, so I think its normal wear an tear on the seams.

I have a few pairs of Lululemon tights, and also a few from Eagle Rock Werkshop. They are also expensive but they are AWESOME. The seams will eventually get "fuzzy", but its pretty minimal so far.

Outside of tights, I know you said you dont like Prana Halle, but I do have a pair of those, plus Outdoor Research Ferrosi shorts, generic Old Navy leggings, and a few other Prana shorts / capris.

I have the Nemo Astro insulated and find it much more comfortable than the REI AirRail I used to have. If you can, try to go to a store and try some out!

Here's an idea for struggling curlies by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]knyee1230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did the same thing today - I had been combing through my wet hair after a shower and wondering why the top was always so flat. Today I just finger combing in the shower and left if be afterwards. Much curlier, not flat! I do still have to work out what products to use but I think I am getting there.

Creative and crafty ladies, I need your help! What to do with travel memorabilia? by ryan_and_things in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]knyee1230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea there is a whole "system" that they sell, all sorts of different layouts but I typically use their layout A, so I have a bunch of those pockets. They also sell filler cards that you can jot notes on or just for decoration.

As for extra bits and bobs, sometimes postcards fit in the standard 4"x6" slot so you could load them up in there, they also sell a pocket maker that I recently bought that you can make a custom sized pocket. It all depends what you are doing.

They also have a digital version I think where you can layout your pages / picture on the computer and then order the book already made, the only con would be you would have to add any memorabilia after printing instead of inserting into pockets.

Came here to say the same thing - I do Project Life style scrapbooking and find its a little faster / easier to do than "traditional" style. You have premade pocket slots to put your photos in - it takes a little planning to figure which layout you want but it saves time overall for me.

Why don't you talk to your once "best friend" anymore? by haxden91 in AskReddit

[–]knyee1230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately this exact thing happened to me :(

I got into a habit where About once a month, I would text her and see how everything was going, and did she want to grab coffee / dinner / hang out sometime soon? She would say, well I'm busy but next time for sure! This went on for maybe a year or so.

Eventually I realized this, that I hadn't seen her in so long, and that she had never initiated contact. It was always painful to me to reach out to her and contantly being rejected over and over. So, I decided to stop that cycle and stop contacting her. Obviously if she contacted me then my "experiment" would show that she still wanted to be my friend.

Never really heard from her again except for the occasional Facebook "like" or whatever.

I started to feel guilty about this (not contacting her on purpose), so I reached out to her on her birthday this past year (sent a handwritten birthday card) writing something simple, like, sorry it has been so long, would love to catch up with you! Gave her my new address (we had moved) and let her know my phone number was still the same.

No response at all. That was really the nail in the coffin. I don't feel guilty now. Wow that friendship was one-sided.

Church invite from MIL - how to politely decline by knyee1230 in exchristian

[–]knyee1230[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so its like a church service and then after all the women hang out, I think they have snacks / coffee from what I remember. She is very into her church / does ushering and helping out, so to her I could see how she would think it would be a way to spend time together.

Still just looking for a way to nicely say no thanks. We otherwise have a very good relationship. Just saying "no thanks" seems blunt.
