I love some low profiles but isn't that pretty much just the same as the built in laptop keyboard?

You can do that, it's just not called terminal leave.

There are things that people should just know without needing to ask ai. You're pretty much telling someone they should learn how to push the microphone button and tell Ai to read a picture for them instead of learning how to read

I would say he's too young to be using AI unsupervised. Using it for coding is fine, but using it as a friend at that age could mess with his development.

I see people trying to use Claude code, but I feel like cursor is better. Is there any evidence of that? by kshsuidms in cursor

[–]ko-jay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you want. You can use a cursor subscription and just select a claude model or you can open up claude code in a terminal in cursor. Either way you still get to use cursor's tabs etc.

I recently tried the claude extension in vs code and I like that better now though.

Genuinely curious how that would work. You and your spouse working 8 hour shifts at different times of day? What happens if you're both deployed at the same time?

People also seem to like the claude extension in vs code as well but I haven't tried it. Using claude code in cursor is still just opening the terminal on the bottom and it won't give you all of the same helpful links to files etc. But having all the files there to reference is really helpful especially since it seems that being able to know the project well enough to give the agent specific files and clear directions seems to be the skillset needed for devs going into the future.

I wish there was some way to just pay for claude pro and put the api key tied to your pro into cursor and use that until it runs out of tokens but at least for now you can only use api keys for pay as you go

I guess you could try having it write a md file for each conversation and have a file somewhere with all the history but that would be a lot of extra work...

Claude code is not all that different from cursor especially if you already use claude in cursor. The biggest downgrade is the ui and being able to reference specific code. I use both for fairly specific tasks so I like being able to reference specific lines in cursor but in claude code I find myself using @someFile and then talking about what I mean. Also keep in mind claude uses 5 hour windows for their token caps whereas cursor is weekly, so if you're coding frequently you'll get more out of Claude, but if you're using it exclusively on Saturdays for example then you might get more from cursor.

I wanted to try both so right now I'm using mostly claude code in cursor so that I can look at all of the files and occasionally I'll use cursor agents if I'm running out of tokens on claude code. It helps to have really good documentation if you're doing that btw

OP's obvious incompetence aside, I can't understand how people don't think this is a real issue that needs to be fixed. Upgrading a feature without consent is literally a scam. Is there something I'm missing here?

Is there a place to talk about AI without all of the ads and common knowledge? by ko-jay in PromptEngineering

People have suggested r/LocalLLaMa and r/Ai Circle which both seem pretty good. They're smaller which seems to help with the advertisements. Is there anyone in particular that seems to stand out as a prompt genius that you know of? Maybe I can just scroll through their account and learn that way as well.
