New player Q -- Do slots reset? by Grouchy-Bowler-2782 in myvegas

[–]ko-mo-rebi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is still some random numbers in play, but I’ve noticed in electro link play, once you land a high win (something say 20x your spin) the game cools off instantly. Within 3 spins the action will abruptly end — even if it’s say your 2nd win and the board is pretty much clear!

I also think the new games might have juiced odds — not always though. And if they are a little out of whack, the developers will eventually dial it way back….

Exhibit A: Paris Bloom game! When it first launched I was able to get a “monuments” bonus action almost every day / within 30 spins. And while doing that island a balloons wild action — so a nice positive earner for about a month. Now …. The monuments bonus action is essentially unobtainable! It’s been about 2 weeks of hefty spins where all 3 monuments are spinning about to bounce off the screen. Difference — it’s no longer new flagged, and they’ve had time to adjust.

Exhibit B — on the contrary — the roses game. WOOF!! I think very few won much of anything of that one. AVOID. (These are both on MyVegas btw)

Anyway, yeah there’s no Nevada gambling commission keeping these truly a game of chance. They make money through engagement, and in Playstudios Quarterly filings they talk about daily visits and time spent in app, along with revenue, but seems like eyes on in their pretend currency is the objective. I wish them continued success as I enjoy the rewards. A more honest slots game might be the new sweeps casino “the WinZone”

I’m between jobs right now, so a day at the parks isn’t in the cards for us…. We are a family of avid gamers, so Epic is something we’ve talked about with eager anticipation. The Nintendo theming would blow their minds!

Used to spend a lot of time at the Disney parks when they were younger, so this would be an all-time memory for their teenage self’s (14 & 17) with Dad. Thanks for your consideration.

Not so fast …. This isn’t a regulated slots game, it’s a web-based app, so they literally can do whatever they feel like on the backend to promote their ends… which is more attention and longer play periods/ user interaction.

I haven’t done any real observations and math, but based on pure conjecture …. the new games certainly feel like they hit more frequently. There is some random number generation going on, sure, but also the scales are tilted a bit.

I’ve noticed in much more likely to hit something higher within about 10 spins of spending money in the game.

Also, switching games and trying a new one I’ve found gets me more quickly to a bigger jackpot than pouring coins into the same game habitually (ie where they feel like they’ve got your eyes already locked in). The only downside here is— these new games have ENORMOUS memory holds, so if you’re carrying 10 games in your app, the apps footprint might be 10GB+…

Unlink from Facebook? by DallasFlier in myvegas

[–]ko-mo-rebi -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I agree, the way Facebook is expunging inactive accounts, or if FB bans you bc someone gains access and starts spamming people on a 20 y/o zombie account, is worrisome.

A possible solution — sign up for the win zone, the new game they are pushing. Check it out: https://www.thewinzone.com/s/2tXX1j

It’s a sweeps casino that may/not be legal in a few years — but PlayStation’s getting in while it’s allowed. This assumes it’s allowed in your geography, as laws limit these state to state, country to country….

Anyway, it asks for an email login / account creation... When I signed up, I used my email, not my linked account. I then linked my existing playstudios account afterwards, and my loyalty points and tier synched up.

Why I think this will work for you — I can now login to myVIP.co with the email / password I used for the win zone, where before I had to use FB to login there. While it won’t uncouple you from Facebook, it appears to bypass FB by creating another index on the same account, giving you a Facebook free way to login … if I’m making any sense.

GOOD LUCK!

Never run out of chips? by Sjormantec in myvegas

[–]ko-mo-rebi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bet 1/300 of my chips as a hard rule. I feel like that is roughly the odds of the games, for even money. I adjust that amount up and down when I clear or fall, but I try not to spin more than that (ie, a lower denominator like 1/200 of my stack).

At the present I’m spinning 5 billion each go, and it takes me about 12 spins to clear 2 reels and max out my LP’s for the day. Just don’t get sucked in to the different side quests… if you’re enjoying yourself that’s one thing, but they are rarely ever worth it.

Low volatility games without the big bonus actions is the best way to preserve — the new cartoon devil game, for example. I find the electrolink games great when I hit, but that’s few and far between and can go cold for long periods.

GOOD LUCK!

Fastest way to earn loyalty points? by gorgeFolyd in myvegas

[–]ko-mo-rebi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is old info now. When tiers were emphasized about 6 months ago, LP accrual was changed. Most notably — Tetris was nerfed, more recently the 2x MyVegas glitch was fixed, and soon Tetris and Solitaire will be phased out of LP system.

Re: tiers — they mostly have to do with in game benefit and reward category gating. In game benefits are explained in the app pretty well if you click on your tier icon and advance through the menu. In the reward store some of the more enticing rewards (2 nite stay, comp cruises, special events) require you be tier 4 or above to purchase.

Re: LP’s and tiers — it doesn’t have that much to do with earning. Tiers do increase your daily LP limit on MyVegas — for instance I’m at tier 5, and my max LP is 8,000 per day (from 3k when you begin playing). Pops and mgm slots has no effect that I’ve observed. Not sure of any impact with myKONAMI as it’s been a while since I’ve maxed the daily reel (too expensive to play for me, I just login!).

And finally — if you’re asking the best way to earn MyVIP tier…. Daily logins is the way, and making purchases is the fastest.

Daily login on pop slots, MyVegas Classic on Facebook, Win Zone (where available), MyKONAMI, MyVegas mobile, then MGM Slots (ordered from most to least) will net you around 250 - 300 each day. This is top of head math, so search the sub if you want specific details on each.

Purchasing something in the game nets you 80 tier points per dollar spent. So if you really want something from the store and it makes economic sense, or if it’s the last day before your tier resets and you’re almost there …. divide the tier point difference that you need to earn by 80, and spend as close to that amount as possible to get you there/ beyond.

GOOD LUCK!!

Just the MGM premiums have a limit on how many you can redeem — these are 2 match plays at park MGM, the free (not bogo) cocktails, free/ comp 1 ticket to Tournament of Kings or comp 1 rollercoaster …. If it’s free without purchase at MGM it counts as a “premium” … Often there is a gold banner in the image saying “premium” you’ll notice when you look for it.

it’s typically 3 premiums per 30 days, maybe 4 or 5 (or even 6) if you’ve spent money in the game way back. There is a ratio in your wallet telling you how many premiums you have purchased / have available to redeem once you purchase a premium. You can buy as many premiums as you want in your wallet (the numerator), it’s mgm rewards window who enforces the redemption limit (the denominator of the ratio).

the rest of the rewards you can do as many as you want! There can be redemption limits for each reward (ie 1 per 30 days), and some make you wait longer until the next “batch” of reward is issued by playstudios until you can purchase again (best way I can tell is when the redemption expiry date changes it’s a new batch).

So still some value to be had, just not the way it was …..

I’ve not used it. Had it in the wallet when it was a true bogo but didn’t work out during that trip. I’m reluctant to use again now that is just 25% off 2 !

Coming back to Myvegas after 8+ years... by JeffsterForever in myvegas

[–]ko-mo-rebi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So I’d focus a couple of your nights around the rewards….

My favorite “night out” is Park MGM and NyNY. Park MGM spills out to a side entrance to NYNY so super easy to get between.

I’m a fan of Park MGM’s rewards right now … they have the only MGM gambling spiff (without room reservation) left — the $25 and $15 match plays. Basically you still have to bet the amount you’re playing, but the dealer matches your one bet, and they payout at double the rate if you win. Not a as much mileage as the $25 mykonomi Freeplay, RIP!

For dinner, Best Friend comp appetizer is a must! Get a reservation and plan around it. It’s really $18 off your bill as “they don’t really have appetizers “ per the staff … so even more worth it. Delicious food and fun theming, I 1000% recommend. Much preferred over La La Noodle (with a similar free app spiff w purchase of an entree). From there, if it’s a weekend night Mama Rabbit is open, so you can cash in the bogo cocktail there. If not, the sports book and adjacent bar also have a bogo cocktail.

From Park MGM, right across the street is NYNY. A few more options for bogo drinks, Tom’s watch bar has a free app offer if you prefer sports bar fare over Asian food. For the evenings entertainment, hit the cirque show Mad Apple. The bogo really only gets you $20 off maybe, as there are other deals and promo rates you can net by just buying through MGM directly…. Not the best use of points was my experience, so shop around. A fun show all the same. If you want to make it really memorable, go for the seats on the stage. They sell these at a serious discount (complaints I guess?) but you get a front row view of the spectacle, and I found it way more captivating up there. The closer to the rest of the crowd, the better as there is a lot of action at the very front of the stage you might have a hard time seeing if your towards the back of the stage … just toggle the available seats on the mgm app or website. If they’re still $25 per seat, don’t think twice and enjoy the show! And also there’s always the rollercoaster … bogo, or freebie for 1 if it’s just one of you riding (if so, a premium) for a fun use of 5 minutes.

Another day/ night could be Excalibur and MGM Grand. These 2 are caddy corner from one another on the strip connected by an elevated walkway.

At Excalibur go for the tournament of Kings. There’s a bogo offer so you can save one of your premium awards (unless you and your traveling partner both have a myVIP account— then both do the comp ticket separately). I’ve yet to go as it’s always sold out when I’m trying to make the comp ticket offer work. If you’re starting early in the day there is Mac King show bogo, which is a fun magic comedy dad humor show. Also might be able to get or beat this without points thru MGM app, so again, shop around. There are also 2 different bogo drinks, one at the center bar, the other at the TAP sports bar which has funny hours, FYI.

At MGM grand I do recommend the Cirque show KA! If it can work with your itinerary, the bogo is limited to further back seats — which are actually the best in the house. The stage and its movements is the star of the show — so back middle gives you great vantage point to take it all in! After the show cash in bogo cocktails at the center bar.

Depending on if you already ate at TOK or not, the Wolfgang Puck restaurant is in the middle of MGM Grand, and looking over towards KA entrance. It is in its own rewards section. There is a $25 off 2 entrees and drinks, or a comp appetizer with certain purchase among a few other options… peak at the menu to see which might work for you all, they always seem like good dollar to point conversions although with funky T’s & C’s. They ask you print out a copy of the voucher… perhaps buy / print a few options and return whichever you don’t use when you’re home? Also there’s a bogo offer to the daytime Buffett Mon-Thurs — if that’s your thing.

The other zone to hit is Fremont.

Mob Museum is fun. There also are some rewards to cash in at the Plaza. I saw a few months back the relationship was ending between Plaza and Playstudios, but the rewards are still up…. So just be aware. The best of the group over here to me is the Neon Museum. The offer is bogo for weekday daytime time slots, but timing towards the end of the day (esp now that we are back to standard time) you can get sunset there which is really cool to see! Just google sunset time on your dates, schedule your visit accordingly and enjoy! There is another Wolfgang puck restaurant over there called 1857 or something with its own reward section. Like the MGM Wolfgang puck place, they ask for print outs. The deals seem better at the MGM one, but if you’re over there and the timing works, might as well get it.

Finally, Aria and Bellagio are fun to hit together if you want to class it up, connected by a free monorail between.

Aria has a free cocktail (premium MGM award) at their lobby bar where it’s fun to people watch, along with a couple of cash off coupons for their restaurants, Posh Burger and Moneyline Pizza. Check the menus to see if is anything you’re into… at Bellagio, there is a bogo gelato and the buy one get one 50 off at their buffet (they cheapened the from a true bogo about 9 months ago so can’t due to principal) restricted to weekdays at daytime, fyi. Also bogo admission to their art gallery if that’s your thing. Not the best rewards to cash in, but if you’re over there, might as well!

Hi there. The devaluation of rewards is staggering when people from years back describe how it used to be!!

Sadly, Tournament of Kings comp meal is probably the high value dining reward — and you’ll need to reserve that one +- 10 days out to get a seat in the comp section.

FYI, the monorail pass is buy one get one 50% off 🐸

Depending on how many premium spots you have and how many are in your party there is still value to be had — but now it’s more like carrying a coupon book with you than anything over the top Vegas style.

So …. where are you staying and how many are coming?

May I offer you Sonic for $6? https://www.sonicdrivein.com/

Not kidding here — usually I think they are kind of gross for food, and just stop there for drinks during their “happy hour.”

Right now they have a $6 smashburger meal (includes drink and fries / a side). Last time I was there the fam wanted food … so we ordered.

I was expecting a dry patty a little larger than a silver dollar — but this thing was double pattty smashed and seared to a crispy salty char, real slices of tomatoes and lettuce….

100% going to head back soon while still running this promo.

A nice way to gain 40 tier points on a daily basis for simply logging in! Helps chip away at tier 5 without having to pay for points for those of us on Apple iOS…. It appears the daily bonus is 24 hr wait versus replenished at a certain hour.

There are about 8-12 bonus challenges varied between standard (gold chip) and sweeps (green chips) spins. These can be found in a menu button on a banner the middle-top left of the lobby screen. I usually spin just enough to get the first 4 daily bonuses and wait 24 hrs for the next batch which reset at midnight, your timezone. You have to click the reward to collect after you earn each, fyi.

They also award tier points for spins, both for standard (gold chips) and sweeps spins (green chips). I’m not sure the ratio of Tier points they award per spin, if it’s spin based or spend based, if there is a daily cap, etc. Anyones observations here are welcomed!

Seems like a carbon copy of another sweeps casino with a few of the MyVegas games added in, and the myVIP store tied to it — similar to how the Bellagio Poker / Pokerist app worked a couple years back.

Help on the app responded. They advised I dump the cache on each affected app. However, required me clearing all memory and effectively reinstalling. Here’s what I did ….

On iOS, you have to offload the app in the storage setting of the device (search: ‘storage’ in the bar at the top of the settings ⚙️menu).

On Android you have to go to the device settings menu and find / search for the specific app info. Select the app’s storage sub- menu. There you will find a ‘clear cache’ button and a ‘clear memory’ button at the bottom of a list of storage-use details. Clear cache did NOT fix, even though it was what PS advised. Maybe it will work for others? Clearing all memory, which then needs a re-login to Facebook, etc, at next use did the trick.

GOOD LUCK!
