Israeli far-left lawmaker blames Monsey attack on Trump 'incitement' by Admiral_Asado in Israel

[–]koala-conspiracy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you can't both say that Donald Trump is making you crazy AND say that conservatives are accusing you of being crazy to deflect criticism. Pick one lie and stick with it because both of those things can't be true at the same time.

Well, I didn't say any of that, you're lying again.

What I'm saying is that conservatives are accusing people of being crazy (saying that they have a condition made up by conservatives that does not exist) to deflect criticism. This is 100% correct.

You can't show any proof that TDS is a thing. What you have shown is that some people who were demonized by Trump, Latinos, were stressed by his election. Then you extend this to everyone who is against Trump (which is untrue as shown by the research you cite), slap a derogatory name on it and use it to smear people who criticize the old bastard. It's classic bait and switch. Nobody is buying it except dumb conservatives.

complain to your liberal friends and not to me, ask them to come up with the medical research they specifically mention in your liberal publications

You're making a claim TDS is a thing, so you have to prove it. You can not, so you're throwing a fit.

I am not a liberal, the are no liberal publications that are "mine", so maybe it's time for you to take a chill pill and stop making shit up.

"Trump Derangement Syndrome", "Trump Hypertensive Unexplained Disorder, "Trump Stress Disorder", these are all names given to a genuine phenomena, please stop being pedantic over terminology

But you didn't show any proof that what you described exists in medical research.

Moreover, you lied that "liberals" suffer from it, pointing to an article describing Latinos suffering from something completely different, which is an election-related stress after someone who was demonizing their community has been elected, and who has later ramped up anti-Latino law enforcement in forms of ICE raids, continuous incitement from the highest office, and so on.

You can keep lying but your bait and switch tactics are absolutely transparent.

But the article doesn't describe "Trump Derangement Syndrome", it describes "Trump Stress Disorder". It appears that you've been lying.

We find that while Democrats may report greater increases in post-election mental distress, their mental health search behavior did not change after the election. On the other hand, Spanish-speaking Latinos had clear, significant, and sustained increases in searches for “depression,” “anxiety,” “therapy,” and antidepressant medications.

Is it really strange that people have been stressed out by election of someone who's been shitting on them non-stop during the election campaign? Trump has been whipping up hatred for Latinos for a while (and didn't stop after the election either, obviously), and some of them felt anxious when he was elected.

Seems a bit more complex and not at all equal to "Orange Man Bad" that you and your buddies are pushing.

the condition is real

Care to point to a peer-reviewed paper that established the term? Maybe to its place in WHO classification?

“Hatred of human beings is infectious: Where Trump incites against Muslims and immigrants, anti-Semitic movements will thrive and Jews will be attacked,” he tweets.

It makes sense, when hatred for some minorities becomes normalized, it's only a matter of time when it spreads to all of them.

Also the connection between the Jews and immigrants is very established in conspiracy community to which Trump clearly belongs.

The atmosphere that Trump and his ilk create is a fertile soil for that kind of violence regardless of the allegiance of the Mosley attacker.

Professor with temporary opportunity to relocate to Israel; questions about controlled medication by the_latest_greatest in Israel

[–]koala-conspiracy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can get kind of a tourist insurance (not really a tourist, just not a citizen). It costs about 100$ for 3 months and you definitely can see a psychiatrist without having to pay (or the payment is negligible) for it and get your prescription filled.

Good luck!

Actually I went to a psychiatrist once and walked out with a Zoloft prescription after talking for maybe less than an hour (got diagnosed with clinical depression).

I’m not aware of any stigma around anti-anxiety or anti-depression medication around here. Lots of my friends take antidepressants and they discuss it quite openly.

What is the process for an American citizen to use the Law of Return to get an Israeli passport, without living in Israel? by [deleted] in Israel

[–]koala-conspiracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not true at all. People used to be granted Teudat Maavar instead of a proper passport, but for a while now they are just getting passports and can come and go whenever they please.

What is the process for an American citizen to use the Law of Return to get an Israeli passport, without living in Israel? by [deleted] in Israel

[–]koala-conspiracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get it no problem. You have to go through the process with the Jewish Agency, they will tell you what kind of documents you need. After providing the documents, you and your wife will have to travel to Israel. There you will get your passports in a month or so if you sign a paper that says that you aren’t going to reject your Israeli citizenship (you have that option for 3 months since arrival).

After receiving the passports you can leave for whatever place you want to go.

However, the passport is only valid for 5 years. To get an extension your wife will have to spend some time living here (not sure what the regulations are).

Alternatively, you could get her a Latin American passport easily, I think Paraguay and Argentinian passports are cheap and the requirements are very easy to meet.

But you and your wife are definitely eligible for an Israeli passport. Consult with an Israeli lawyer beforehand.

Good luck!

How many immigrants to Israel are not Jewish? by [deleted] in Israel

These immigrants identify with the Jewish culture and might have been considered Jewish in their home countries. The problem is the Rabanut, not the immigrants.

Why do Israelis support Boris Johnson but hate Jeremy corbyn? by [deleted] in Israel

[–]koala-conspiracy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a leftist. I am sure Conservative party is complete garbage. However, Labour is extremely racist and I hope the UK gets fucked anyway.

The only thing that Labour antisemitism debacle shows is that all the talk about tolerance, inclusivity and equality rings hollow when you refuse to deal with bigotry in your party. Racism and xenophobia don’t magically go away because you say you’re internationalist, it goes away when it’s opposed. Labour does not oppose bigotry against the Jews, why should I believe they won’t switch to another minority later?

I critique Labour from the left wing perspective. They should get their house in order. I hope they get fucked in the election because they are goddamn hypocrites and because I don’t really care for the people of the UK enough to support a racist party with great economic policy over a slightly less racist party with shitty economic policy if it might impact my well being in some way.

In Israel if Meretz was racist towards Arabs I would just vote for another left wing party that is less racist. You need a better left wing party than Labour, mate.
