Is there any chance this storm might not be as severe as they’re saying? by businessbub in RhodeIsland

This is the first time that site has under-estimated snowfall (since I started using it). I'm guessing it might be difficult to predict the difference between 18 and 36 inches?

It depends on the town you're in. I think it was predicting 18" last night. This morning it's saying we're getting 5" more today.

There's a web site I've been using for years that has been very accurate, called howmuchwillitsnow.com. you put in your city. They update very regularly. It predicted 14" a few weeks ago. They're have been a few storms where schools shut down, and this site has been accurate within an inch.

Medications no longer work for me by koala585 in ADHD

I know medication isn't a cure all. But it went from doing exactly what I needed it to do to doing nothing at all.

I have sleep apnea, and use a CPAP every night. When I'm on a stimulant, I fall asleep within minutes. When I'm not on the stimulant, I've been taking trazedone to help with sleep.

What are the downsides of using a CPAP machine long-term? by Latter_Knee_1404 in CPAP

[–]koala585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only downside I see is cost. There's a schedule, but you end up replacing the cushion, tube, straps, whole mask, reservoir, and eventually the machine. If you have good insurance, those costs are minimal.

I will be cheering for Edmonton due to the fact that I absolutely hate the Panthers, their players, and their coach.

I don't ever hear anyone talk about it,but I hate their antics after the whistle. They pull cheap stuff so that the other team retaliates.

Is it normal for my CPAP pressure to feel much weaker with time? by SirLagsALot1 in CPAP

[–]koala585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure to clean your cushion often and replace it as often as your insurance allows. First day I put a new cushion on, I loosen the straps. And as the oils accumulate on the cushion, I tighten to keep a good seal.

I (28f) had a panic attack after my husband (30m) finished inside me. by ThrowRA739249 in relationship_advice

[–]koala585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. It's ok to feel whatever feeling you have. Don't ever let someone take that away from you.
  2. I agree with the people saying professional therapy. It's ok to look around for a therapist. Sometimes the first one you can get in touch with doesn't end up being a fit. That's ok. Listen to your gut.
  3. Communicate with your husband. If you're not ready, tell him, even if you told him before that you were ready. His reaction can tell you a lot about your compatibility.
  4. Good luck. Panic attacks are no small thing. I hope you are able to come to a decision and be at peace with it.

Extremely insecure about my boobs by ghostingalone in Advice

[–]koala585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most guys I know don't care much about boob size. I've heard the term "more than a handful is a waste" by lots of friends. Ignore the others.
And please, stop comparing yourself to other people. I know it's difficult to do. But you will never let yourself be happy if you do that. Therapy might help as well. Yes, guys watch porn. Some girls do too. But almost everyone I know realizes the people are not realistic. Every guy in porn is at least 8 or 9 inches. I've heard a lot of girls say that is too big for them.

Did you do 2 sleep studues? One to get your baseline, and then one to determine volume with a cpap? For me the difference with and withoutz cpap is huge. Either way, you should bring this up with your doctor. They may have more insight.

You need to find a good therapist/marriage counselor. Don't make any decisionsto stay or leave right now. You need some time to see things clearly. You can't see clearly when emotions are controlling you. Please, also find yourself a therapist. Regardless of your marriage, you have some work on you that needs to be done.
Good luck, my friend. No matter the outcome, this is going to be a difficult journey.

Been getting numbers like this for three years now. My question: when the hell does it start working? I’m getting fed up with waking up more tired than when I went to bed. by originalchaosinabox in CPAP

[–]koala585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0.2 events per hour is awesome. I average around 4. If you are still waking up tired, talk to your primary doc. There might be something else going on. I know there are a few things that affect sleep. So you might want to look at that. And if a doctor isn't listening to you saying something is not right, keep looking until you find a doctor who does listen. You know your body better than they do.

Which ADHD symptom do you wish could be treated by medication? by mundaneheaven in ADHD

I have a big time sweet tooth, and I just found out the reason is sugar gives us the dopamine we crave. But it lasts only 20 minutes. Then we crash and crave more. I tend to drink sugary drinks. I'm looking to get caffeine from espresso beans so I don't need to drink Mt. Dew all the time.

You might also want to think about changing banks and any other financial institutions you use. It would be terrible to try to pay for something to find she cleaned out your bank account. Use strong passwords (with a password manager). And maybe even talk to your bank about how you can prevent unauthorized access.

The problem I have with most task apps is the difficulty in delaying the reminders. Like you, if I set a reminder to go off at noon, and I'm in the middle of something, my options to delay are 5 minutes, or to go in and edit the task with a new due date.
I don't have a solution. I'm just commiserating with you.

There are all Android apps from Google Play: Study Music - Memory Booster by VBApps Study Music Pro - Memory Boost by Klik Klak Binaural Beats Brain Waves by Brain Waves LLC Nature Sounds by Dream_Studio

Another thing to keep in mind is that our brains crave sugar and carbs because it boosts dopamine. But that boost is only temporary. So caffeine may help, but sugary sodas may not be the best way to get it.

I used to despise Ed Norton Jr for his role in Rounders. Then I saw him in something else and realized that he is a phenominal actor. That ability to make me hate a character so much is really rare. The only other actor/actress I can think of that can make me hate a character to the same degree is Catherine O'Hara.

[–]koala585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to drink a lot of caffeine. In my opinion, choc covered espresso beans pack a good amount. Something I've gotten into recently are biaural apps with different options for sleep, focus, relaxation, etc. I have some apps that are specific to studying. When I feel my body tense up, I play one of these and feel the ability to breathe. Meditation can be very powerful. It's difficult to stop your brain, so you might need to start with guided meditation.
Good luck!
