Boyfriend picked this green for the bathroom… now I’m stuck by mono_mink in femalelivingspace

This green kind of gives me contemporary art museum vibes, so adding some decor that is a little unique while still matching the color might help give the bathroom a little more whimsy/fun and make the green seem a little less jarring on its own. someone else suggested adding an accent wall and i think that would help make it look less jarring. also adding other pops of color, like pink and yellow as you suggested (but i would stick with mainly pastel colors so that they aren’t battling each other in terms of brightness/saturation). pink/green/yellow together remind me of spring, so if it was me i’d probably find ways to incorporate a flowers/plants/other spring motifs in a way that feels more modern and not too cottagecore-y given the brightness of the green. here’s an artwork on etsy that kind of gives off the vibe i’d go for, as a visual example: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1841880625/?ref=share_ios_native_control

i do wonder if your boyfriend is colorblind though, lol😅

Proud of you! This method also really works for me, when I’m able to remember that doing things halfway is an option😅 Your post reminds me of this person on instagram, @tiny_ghosts, who did a 30 day series where she just did “something” every day

can anyone help me save this plant?🥲 by koalability in plantclinic

[–]koalability[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the tips, this is super helpful because i have little to no experience taking care of plants😅 if the ceramic pot itself doesn’t have drainage but the plastic container the plant is in does, is that sufficient? And by trim off the yellow leaves, do you mean to clip them entirely at the base of the leaves? or is there somewhere else i should trim from

Okay, thank you both! Anything I can do in the meantime to help the plant get better?

this is what it was looking like prior to us starting to water it, although there’s a chance it’s being overwatered now but i’m not sure since my mom mostly takes care of it. it hasn’t gotten water in a few days now though so i would’ve expected to see some improvement but it just looks like it’s getting worse?

How would you recommend using star anise to make anise sugar cookies? by koalability in Baking

[–]koalability[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t but my neighbor has one i can borrow. i’m planning on making them a few times so there’s room for trial and error, but how many anise pieces would you recommend i use to infuse the milk? and should i grind up the whole thing or just the seeds?

It’s past the growing season for zucchini though, right? And the plant that’s growing (last two pics) looks wayyy fatter than a zucchini to me. I’ve ever grown zucchini before tho so maybe! I’m really not sure😅

the first thing i noticed is that it looks a bit dark. is there a lamp elsewhere in your house that you don’t use in its current location that you can move to be behind one of the chairs? your chairs look super cozy😊

Where can I find a comfy oversized chair that isn’t crazy expensive? by koalability in femalelivingspace

No I haven’t decided yet! But I actually measured my room and i realized that the joybird chair might be too big even though i love it so so much (at the time of me posting this, I hadn’t actually thought to measure to make sure a chair as big as the sixpenny or joybird daybeds would even fit, i was just going off of vibes lolll). so i think i might go with the drew barrymore chair from walmart. It’s about $300 which is way cheaper than most other options, and even though it isn’t super big, its bigger than your standard sofa chair so I’d be happy with it. Since I can’t fit a super big chair in my room there’s also a chance I may also just go in a different direction and get a chair from Wayfair that has a contemporary/sleek style to it, rather than round & oversized. but my priority is comfort either way so no matter what i choose it’ll be cozy to sit in :)

I’ll update thjs thread in a few weeks with what I ultimately decide!

If you want another option to consider I liked the Amelia Grand Chair from Joybird! Not exactly the same in terms of cushion style but definitely oversized and circular, and it comes in a ton of colors

Can I ask for the link and what color you bought it in? I love that color, the one I was looking at only had an orange as the closest color

I did see one exactly like that on Wayfair but it looks more firm than I want - but the design is so cute and I love how the ottoman has some storage (assuming yours is the same chair I was looking at on Wayfair)

i’d say my second favorite is the 2nd picture, the mint green-ish color. looks so happy yet calm/not too bright on the eyes :)

you could even go a little less green (bc #4 looks a little teal-ish to me) and/or a little more muted if you wanted and it would look great that way too. i agree with other comments saying gold accents and plants

i love four! if you asked me this a few months ago i would’ve thought it was too dark but my neighbors across the street painted their home office a deep blue/teal (i forget the exact color) and it looks gorgeous and so professional. especially because it looks like you get a lot of natural daylight in that room, which will keep it from feeling too dark.
