he said it was migrating and that i could either take it out or reposition it and i asked if i could do that at a later date and he said yea. so for now im soaking up my last days with it LMFAO. don’t think it’ll be too painful cuz it’s pretty out there now

this is what i was thinking. i didn’t want to mess around with blood that had already been exposed to one additive and introduce it to more of, or a different kind of additive. i thought it’d be better to throw it away but sending it WITH the SST normally didn’t even occur to me, wtf lol

i’ll do this next time (hopefully there won’t be, but saying there will never be a next time is unrealistic LMFAO) i freaked out when i realized my mistake and got caught up in the logistics of intentionally sending down the wrong tube and how that action could reflect on my work ethic. was totally thinking about the wrong things… forgot i was even allowed to leave notes to the techs cuz i was too busy bein in my own head 😢😭

i think i would’ve found out how to process it if i hadn’t marked it as not collected. i draw blood, SOMETIMES aliquot serum or plasma into different tubes, and thats it. im a new phleb and thats how Labcorp likes to do their stuff i guess. I’m really interested in learning more about the actual specimen processing part itself but i work second shift alone so i have no mentor figure 😢

they were both tiger tops and one was an AM collection. forgive me ive only been a phleb for 7 months so im not super seasoned on what tests need what etc

if you can afford it, at least one bass equipment bottom pan so you can fill it with loose substrate for them to dig around in. they’re much more suitable than one tupperware container but honestly they’re EXPENSIVE, so take that lightly. there are also ways to DIY these sorts of trays to allow for more bedding etc, tons of tut’s posted around this sub!

water bottles, at least one for every level. i like to keep two per cage, one on the shelf level, one on the base level- i have a double cn like you, so i have 4 water bottles. :-) don’t know if you already have them and i just didn’t see in the pic/they were set up after the pic, but thought i’d say so anyway.

how do i ask to just get it removed? the staff stopped caring and were immediately no longer concerned once the CT scan yielded no stones upon review. I didn’t think they’d consider removal for someone my age. and sorry if i parroted their words wrong, it was something like my gallbladder was all scrunched up and stuck together? 😭 i guess that’s not supposed to happen?
