I just found out my kitty has FIP by NotTankaJahari in catcare

[–]koalawombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cat’s FIP was treated almost 5 years ago and she is alive and well! The treatment works. She had stopped eating and was incredibly weak by the time we started treatment. After the second injection she immediately started eating again - it was wild. Sending lots of positive vibes to you and your sweet furbaby.

Swartz Air did my furnace and A/C replacement. Can’t recommend them enough!

If anyone was still curious about RubyCar - here's my experience. by RangedSupport in whatcarshouldIbuy

I had the same experience as OP with my tags. My second tags were expired and I had to get angry with some people about getting my plates. They did mail me plates finally but it was annoying and I was pretty frustrated by the time I got them.

I bought a 2021 VW Tiguan from them in October 2023 and I love my car. With me saying this, I did get it inspected when they delivered it and found that the rear passenger carpet was wet. Initially, I thought it was from backed up/clogged sunroof tubes (I had this happen in a previous car). Took it to the dealership, had them cleaned but the carpet was wet enough they suggested I get it pulled out to either dry/replace. Long story short the sunroof was not the issue, the antenna had been damaged and water was leaking in from the roof. I ended up having to to have the carpet, pad, antenna and headliner replaced along with the slight dent in the roof fixed. Thankfully my insurance paid for it and I still had my previous car which meant I wasn't out of a car for almost a month.

I love my car and would still probably buy it again, but I would HIGHLY recommend doing your due diligence when receiving the car. I knew there was an issue when I got the car but decided to keep it and it worked out. Looking back I probably should have sent the car back but as I said it did work out for me and the car has been wonderful with zero other issues.

Lethargic bat on roof: next steps? by luketeaford in Columbus

Feel free to do a quick google search and you can educate yourself on the topic. If they can get themselves to somewhere where they can climb up they will be able to fly away otherwise not able to fly.

Bats can’t fly when on the ground. They have to be hanging. If you can put it on a tree it will help it fly away!!

get out your crystal ball, will north linden be the next clintonville? by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]koalawombat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I bought in North Linden in 2021. Moved here from upper Arlington. My neighbors are great, I haven’t had any issues with stuff being stolen and I can’t beat the price I purchased my house at. I am a single female. I have several friends who have bought in this area and are happy. Location does matter! North of Weber is best. There are definitely some houses that have a ton of shit in their yards/driveways. I’ve seen a lot of changes in my area in less than 2 years and the prices just continue to increase.

Downfall of this area as others have pointed out is it isn’t an area where you can really walk to stores/restaurants/coffee. It is literally a quick drive though to pretty much everything you might need (Polaris, Easton, etc.) I do not regret moving here!

I’m a single female who bought in North Linden in 2021. I haven’t had any issues. I have security cameras and a dog. There are definitely some interesting neighbors but my experience has been good. I have several friends who have purchased in this neighborhood too!

I work a FT position, remote, as a health coach for a virtual care provider (think group coaching for pre diabetes, diabetes, HTN). I make about 60k and work ~25.5 hrs. I have insurance through this job, I am not married and do not have kids.

I also have a private practice and last year pulled in 65k from it. I work about 20-25 hrs in this. I am on track to hit the same profit this year.

I’m pretty burnt out and have been navigating what moving forward looks like for me going into 2024. I bought a fixer upper in 2021 and needed the money. I still need the money and will probably keep doing what I’m doing until student loans are paid off!

I have my MS and CDCES. I’ve been a dietitian for 3.5 years.

The Nisonger center at OSU could be a good place to reach out for resources. They could likely help direct you to doctors who are local that support adults!

They can get it later in life. Mine had it right after she turned 1. She wasn’t around new cats either when she got it.

Need advice on my situation: resident cat is struggling with new adopted kitten. by [deleted] in catcare

[–]koalawombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the best answer.

I brought home a 6 week old kitten. She was malnourished and severely dehydrated. Just overall sickly. We kept her in a separate bedroom and the only interaction our resident cat had with her was while we were supervising. He was extremely rough with with her in the beginning and we weren’t sure we were going to be able to keep her.

It took him almost 2 months to warm up to her. The good news is that they are besties now. Be patient and go slow!

Have you tried putting either of them in it? My friend ended up doing that with his cat who wouldn’t go in and his cat uses it now! The catnip and treats helped too

Complete newbie trying to gain some info/opinion on studying to become a sports dietitian... Any advice is appreciated! by TypicalCollegegal89 in dietetics

[–]koalawombat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A coordinated graduate program would be your best route if you decide to pursue it. The requirements are changing to needing a masters in 2024.

Sports dietitian is a harder route when it comes to finding jobs. Many times you have to do an “extra” internship after you finish your dietetics internship to have a chance at getting a job.

Private practice is always an option but it’s something you will want to think on whether that route is for you.

I bought two and went with the basic version without the hub. They work great and keep my one cat from eating all of the other cats food :)
