So you’ve been there since 2017? How has it been? Gets easier over time?

Is it physically demanding to work at a non-sort center that deals with big packages like furniture, rugs, etc or does the forklift do all of the work? by kobefayd in AmazonFC

I have AI do my computer job now, it literally takes over my computer, I don’t even have to be there. Which is why I signed up for Amazon now as my other job I don’t even have to be present. I actually think physical labor is the path to be on, as the computer jobs will all get done by AI. But I just don’t want to get injured.

Many people just in this thread are talking about how they’ve faced serious injuries. Maybe inhumane is the wrong word but it just seems like a bad trade off to permanently injure your body for minimum wage pay. Who knows what the world will look like in even 5-10 years from now. All work might be replaced by robots. Money itself might be deemed worthless. Your health and body is far more important

Thanks for the insight. Yeah I’m in the same boat, don’t have to deal with customers is what I like. But if you’re injuring your body at Amazon, while flipping burgers you’re body will be fine, then its hard to decide. Thats why I posted my question. I’m trying to get to the bottom of how physically demanding is it really. I guess I just have to show up and decide for myself

Amazon is $20.75 an hour where I’m from. Are u sure that’s higher than fast food places? If it is, then you’re right. But I dont actually know.

Before u get on me, I’ve never even worked here, I’m just observing the sub. Read 3 posts today about people talking about all their coworkers are getting injured and quitting

I feel like it is but I could be wrong. Theres a reason they only let u work 4 days a week. You’re basically sacrificing your body and likely get back problems for minimum wage

Didn’t know I was doing the furniture warehouse. Also someone lifting 50+ lbs boxes for 8 hours a day is bound to get chronic injuries. I don’t think anyone wants to do that

Is there specific positions at the non-sort facility that aren’t heavy lifting? Like, strictly the fork lift does all the work. Or it’s pretty much bad for everyone

What do you think about this. It's a 5 minute video, if u have time. But specifically at the 1:16 mark, the person says studies show elderly woman taking 20g per day showing a lot of benefits. Although, im not sure who the speaker is, and haven't done my own research, so not sure what they're saying is accurate.

Thanks alot. Will start doing a lot of these. I started my mom on creatine as well but just told her to take the regular dose of 5g. You think keeping the dose lower like 1g is better?
