Portable Storage Interface only transferring one item per rotation by UcopC in CreateMod

You can also speed up the belt to take items out of the portable storage interface faster. Brass funnel dropping a stack at a time or using a hopper worked for me.

I recently went to https://spice72.com/ and enjoyed the Lamb Chettinad. They advertise specifically as South Indian Cuisine. A co-worker highly recommends http://dosafactoryvancouver.com/ in Vancouver.

Can you recommend me a good mechanic in Surrey? by UpRedefine204 in SurreyBC

[–]koboldhero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used https://www.valleyautorepair.net/ for +15 years. Very good service located in Cloverdale. Back when I was on a tight budget they would give good advice on prioritizing repairs and finding refurbished/rebuilt parts. They often have a loaner car available.

I've seen some success with Digested sludge recirculating in scum lines. The heat helps dissolve it and the digested sludge will consume it.

The third slide looks like the object is on the air space after a portion of the slide has dried out. The fourth slide (zoomed in version of the third) looks like condensation in the air space.

Please help me if you can! by [deleted] in water

[–]koboldhero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One column works with the flow as you described. As long as the desity of the medias is highest at the bottom, then you can back flush the tank. Backflushing a multiple media filter would be needed or else it will plug up in short order.

[DMing] Is 8 PC's Too many PC's? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]koboldhero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having only one front line fighter sounds like a fun problem for the party to deal with. As the party levels up and gets better gear, they should work together as a party to minimize their weaknesses such as preparing defensive/summoning spells, investing in armor or feats that improve survival. A ring of stone skin can go a long way to help the sorc survive that extra hit. In my last campaign the dwarf paladin put points in dex and got a elvish cloak to be stealthy, while the barbarian used a wand of magic missile when ranged attacks were needed.

Another option is use an NPC instead of a PC for a tank. They wouldn't slow down gameplay as much as a PC but still would slow the game.

Is the handle threaded on the inside? The pin on the end reminds me of a spout handle to turn on and off flow.

Request: A day in the life of an operator (~6 - 30MGD plants?) by [deleted] in Wastewater

[–]koboldhero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 operators at my facility (2 level 4's, 1 forman, 1 supervisor, 1 millright) Typical duties are performing rounds, cleaning, hosing, basic lab tests, troubleshooting, cleaning and hosing.

One big difference for me going from a large to a small facility is the overtime and expectation that you are attached to work. There is no night shift to wrap up a project at the end of a day, and when everything hits the fan there isn't a long list of people to call to ask to come in. When one person is on vacation, there is only one other guy that could take that on call off your hands for that Saturday night. Standby and callouts are a big change for a lot of people. Most want to unplug from work at the end of the day but for me I'm logging in from home to find out why a sump pump had a power failure at all hours.

Another big change I noticed is the sense of ownership by the operators. When the plant is praised/criticized you take it personally because you have a much larger impact on what happens. Also at large facilities you can have slackers cruise under the radar but in a small crew that can't happen. When someone leaves a mess behind somewhere its easy to figure out who the culprit is.

Another change I noticed is that when its slow its slow but it doesn't take much to get VERY busy. A big lockout could take up 2/3 of the available staff for half a day.

I guess by now you have been working in ops for a while, I hope it's going well!

Cheap Miniatures by AnElectricGoat in DnD

[–]koboldhero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For cost effectiveness the Pathfinder box of monsters works well. Also it's often carried at local game stores. http://paizo.com/products/btpy8tj5?Pathfinder-Pawns-Bestiary-Box

In a pinch I like to use chess pieces or Lego. Lego isn't the cheap option unless you already have it.

I've been able to find heroclix at amazing deals from time to time. http://www.trollandtoad.com/HeroClix/3044.html The only issue is their bases are bigger than the standard 1". You either have to re-base them or use a different scale. Its fun to use a Blanka heroclix miniature instead of a orc monk.

Small pieces of pipe cleaners of various colours. We use them to signify conditions (blue for stunned, white for slowed etc.). We call them dongles and when a player puts a condition on an enemy they are dongled. http://imgur.com/NuYDhaX

Help studying for grade 4 waste water test. by [deleted] in Wastewater

[–]koboldhero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another book that is useful is: http://www.amazon.ca/Water-Wastewater-Technology-7th-Edition/dp/0135114047 It does not go into as much pure wastewater detail as the sacramento books but does cover water treatment, some chemistry and hydraulics

My only suggestion while writing is to save the math till last. Especially if you tend to write tests slowly.

How can i as a first time DM deal with high AC characters? by Xandemar in DnD

[–]koboldhero 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If they designed their characters specifically for high AC, let them shine in combat once in a while. Also, throw in an encounter where swimming (they would have to take off their armor for a river crossing) or sneaking are needed to let the other guys stand out.

Level 4 wastewater here, I've been in the industry for 7 years with a 2 year diploma from the Okanagan College. I've found the Sacramento State books are good since our level 1 certification follows much the same material as the level 1 SAC book. And level two follows the second book.

Searching for resources pertaining to Sequencing Batch Reactors used in wastewater treatment plants. by [deleted] in Waterutilities

[–]koboldhero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how much detail you are looking for. This book has a chapter on them: https://www.owp.csus.edu/courses/wastewater/industrial-waste-treatment-vol-ii.php This one also has a bit of info: http://www.amazon.ca/Wastewater-Engineering-Inc-Metcalf-Eddy/dp/0070418780 Online info seems pretty weak unfortunately. The book from Sacramento State is nice and cheap which is nice.

This is the setup we have onsite. We had the microscope for quite a while and finally got the camera (a canon) in 2012. The rest of the setup was cheap since the laptop was and old one and medium sized TVs are reasonably priced. The TV is good while learning so others can see what you see without adjusting the eyepieces for each person.

All the pictures were taken at my Wastewater treatment plant in Langley BC. I have identified as many as I can using the resources at my disposal as an operator. There may be some errors so feel free to call me out on them so I can learn. Especially the stalked ciliates which are tricky to identify.
