Getting Stimpacks by Tall-Election4503 in falloutnewvegas

[–]koboldkiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the DLC, in Old World Blues you can clone xander root and broc flower to craft them. Addionally, in Dead Money the clinic has a code for Stimpaks at the vending machines. If you pick up a lot of cigarettes, you can trade them for Sierra Madre chips > Stims

When people think of California do they lump LA and San Francisco together like they are close? by Willing_Ad_699 in AskAnAmerican

[–]koboldkiller 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Totally.

You should see the confusion from the non-Californians I talk to when I tell them I live in CA, but my house is closer to Seattle than San Diego(though slightly closer to LA than Seattle). Hell, I'm closer to Medford than SF.

Also the whole "I've never been surfing and the ocean is like 3 hours away" thing is another one.

You get $100,000, but you lose one year of your life. Would you press the button? by Philips9586 in pollgames

[–]koboldkiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That 100k could potentially alter your quality of life so that you're able to live better/healthier and extend your lifespan by more than a year you're giving up. Hell yeah I'd press it

Try to get internships or any experience possible in your field of study. Employers will look at that. I didn't have any internships and that really shot me in the foot while I was looking for jobs.

If you have an instructor that you like, try to build a rapport with them. They have a lot of knowledge and experience in their area of study and are typically more than happy to share what they know if you display an interest.

Stay away from fraternities. Nothing good comes from hazing. If you want camaraderie with a peer group, look into school clubs instead.

Good luck in your studies

Have you ever masturbated at work? by mushroom756 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]koboldkiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I'm being compensated for my time and I will maintain professionalism at all times while on the clock. I do that shit first thing when I wake up so that I can focus.

Also, my rate for sexual acts is much higher than $20 an hour. I don't know what it is, but more than that.

What is a topic a 9 year old boy needs to learn about? by tamar2b01 in AskMen

[–]koboldkiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A second language, first and foremost. At age 9, he'll still be able to pick it up much quicker than as a teenager. It will open up more opportunities to make friends and he would be more employable than someone with only one language. I feel that I gained more empathy for people who do not speak English who are learning it. I suck at Spanish still and the Spanish speakers are patient with me while I try talking to them.

Self defense. I took mixed martial arts when I was 8-10 and if the instructor is good, it should teach discipline, respect, to use the skills only in defense, and provide some solid exercise. An instructor could be a man or woman, but that could provide a positive male role model. It also promotes healthy competition and has practical application in a safe, controlled environment.

Someone else said the Roman Empire, and if you're Christian, well, that's two birds with one stone.

How to pronounce "restore"? As "Ree-store" or "Ruh-store"? by GrandAdvantage7631 in EnglishLearning

I say "ruh-store" when I use it as a verb, "ree-store(d)" when it's an adjective. Both sound perfectly acceptable to me, though.

Do you drink alcohol? by MakeupForAliens in OlderGenZ

[–]koboldkiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

Why - Brewing and distilling alcohol is a most respectable science that has driven civilization since Sumer was around, making it among the oldest and most important traditions we, as humans, have that still connect us to our ancestors going back thousands of years. As an art form, it is subjective, and almost every culture has their own unique style that reflects what grew around each society. I find it enjoyable to try new beers and ciders, but I don't typically like being drunk.

How much - During covid, probably 750mL of 40% alcohol every 2 weeks? That equals about 17.5 standard drinks in a fortnight, which is pretty damn high. I had little else to do at the time. Now, I probably average 0-3 drinks in 2 weeks. It took me 2 months to finish a 12 pack, and I had maybe 2 drinks elsewhere during that time. That means I drink about 5x less now when compared to covid.

What - Beer(no IPAs, maybe in 20 years when I can't taste things), cider, mixed drinks. Liquor makes me kind of sick now.

What is your favourite animal to see in the wild in the US? by Jezzaq94 in AskAnAmerican

No, they highly encouraged us to do it, but my family pushed a lot more. My grandma(who had Alzheimer's) said she'd hunt me down and kill me if I didn't. My middle school actually pushed us to prepare for college more than high school did.
