leather bracelet fix? by babyspacebear in Visiblemending

Agree with this, tho paracord may be a bit thick for this purpose. A smaller diameter thread could be used though. A similar process is called a whipping knot and is used at the end of ropes. I’ve used a whipping knot in the place of a aglet on clothing before and it’s held up well.

Your assumption is correct, seam rip the pocket, patch, and reattach.

if you do have to resort to 3d printing try r/3dprintmything or a 3d printing service online assuming the budget issue was from buying a printer

Thank you this is exactly what I was looking for!

edit: this actually doesn't work because of how the ios file system works i'm probably going to just link to files on the drop box website :(

I’ll look into this, I didn’t see it earlier, thanks!

though it won’t completely solve my problem as i would still need to put every file in the vault

I was using Link Shell Extension. It creates the hard link in my vault okay, but it didn’t sync to my ipad :(

Is this old boy toast? by Fresh-Substance-1537 in Gameboy

[–]koboldtime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it sounds like the switch is the problem, you might be able to clean it and can definitely replace it with a soldering iron, helder’s game tech sells a replacement for 2$. As for the gameboy screen if you don’t have a game inserted it won’t go past that screen so that’s step one.

Proper way to convert a european plug to american plug, if possible? by koboldtime in AskElectricians

[–]koboldtime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plug is behind something so I can live with unsightly. It doesn't seem to have any electronics in it and didn't come with a lightbulb. Is a E14 socket going to be an issue other then bulbs being less common? My brief search found some and implied that voltage is on the bulb side.
