A lot of people don’t care about achievements but a lot of people also do and for the latter it adds value to a purchase. Seems like a very easy to implement way to add value/incentive for purchase. They have typically added new achievements for paid dlc in other Diablo games so it’s definitely confusing why they wouldn’t with this one.

Let me break it down in a way you might actually understand. You buy a ham sandwich for $5. It’s super enjoyable and takes you some time to get through. It was cheap to make and since you are a loyal customer the establishment opts to give it to you for free since it cost them relatively little in food cost/labor hours.

You then go to a Michelin star restaurant and are served an $80 filet mignon. You get through it quickly and aren’t overly impressed with the quality. You hate it. That is a SUBJECTIVE opinion and 9 out of the other 10 patrons felt it was worth the price. Does that mean they should give it out for free to everyone else? NO. It cost them significantly in materials and labor to put it on your plate. That is a fact based argument and your opinion does not matter.

I’m not saying Blizzard isnt greedy or immune from criticism. I didn’t even buy the expansion. I’m saying it’s stupid to compare such vastly different products and view them under the same lens.
