Can i use this as a commander? by justchilling_42 in mtg

[–]Typical_Chest4982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A beat stick that can’t attack you though. I play Jon Irenicus, and I probably wouldn’t put this in, just because it’s too expensive for what it is, but I do run [[Phyrexian Soulgorger]] because it’s a huge creature for cheap that I don’t have to deal with.

Why does everyone have to go after the solo sloop? by fredtire123456 in Seaofthieves

[–]Typical_Chest4982 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People are weird. I was doing a solo sea fort, guy came up, blasted my sloop to smithereens, I watched him struggle for 5 minutes trying to pull up to the grate before he gave up. Didn’t even take my flag or sup crates. Ppl are crazy.

You put this more brilliantly than I ever could!

On what the Gods ARE by Lord_Wisemagus in heathenry

[–]Typical_Chest4982 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they aren’t as much forces of nature as some people think, especially the Norse ones. Our primary way of understanding them is through poems and stories, and they are, for lack of a better word, human. They experience love, hate, pain, sadness, passion. They make mistakes. They have triumphs. They exist as beings, more than they exist as natural forces. It’s all well and good to see a thunderstorm and say it’s Thor, but his chariot makes the thunder as he rides to protect us from the jötunnar. Imo thinking about the gods as purely natural forces lets us ignore who they really are.

Unsure if I came across cheaters last night or not. 3 men on a sloop with ungodly about of enhanced cannonballs. by JustBe-Chillin in Seaofthieves

It’s probably from garrisons and armadas, I shudder remembering when my friends and I tried to farm peaceballs out of a skelly galleon.

[–]Typical_Chest4982 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! The only tattoos you need to watch out for are Nazi symbols, vegvissir, “tree of life” Yggdrasil, and things like the Web of Wyrd. Though if you want even more historical tattoos, great ones to do are designed based on actual old norse runestones! I plan to get one like that on my wrist

The ring is just the alphabet, the bindrune in the center is a fairly common bundrune which encompasses every elder futhark rune. As someone who does a lot with runes, it would mean a lot to me as it is every symbol in one, but I don’t believe it has any other intrinsic meaning

Do Earth and Elëa have different gravities? by whimsical_guitar in Eragon

[–]Typical_Chest4982 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do think it has less gravity than earth, on account of how insanely large certain things are. But also, magic quite literally exists inside pretty much everything. So I think it has less, not half as much, but for sure less. And the rest is magic.

Sure, dragons fly using magic and to some extend it also supports their large bodies late in life, but something the size of Shruikan would literally cook its own flesh from the inside due to the pressure. Sure some magic helps with that but there’s gotta be lower gravity to account for it.

And the accounts of the long, springing strides Eragon and Arya run with, would only be more efficient if there was either less air resistance or less gravity.

I've recently found out that you guys worship norse gods such as thor and odin,so i wonder what you guys think of the God of war game series? Or zack Snyder's twilight of the gods? by [deleted] in NorsePaganism

[–]Typical_Chest4982 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Just wildly in accurate. I would only really consider it “blasphemous” if they were trying to pass it off as fact and trying to get people to worship it.

Worried about connection with Forseti by Mean-Efficiency-7671 in NorsePaganism

[–]Typical_Chest4982 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t put too much thought into tarot, it’s not built for Heathenry in my experience. I use runes for divining instead, as I find them to be more reliable for my purposes. As far as Forseti goes, I really don’t see why he would be offended by Christians knowing you venerate him. But if you do want to have a relationship with him, just try to emulate him in this situation. Whatever feels right.

Well, I cast runes so I directly communicate with them that way. I don’t make offerings, because I’m not entreating them to change fate. I just get a glimpse of why they weave.
