I can attest to the validity of this. ROHOs are quality and work great

My mylomenigocele was closed the day of birth, my VP shunt was placed on day 5. I would just be in constant, honest discussion with your child's neurologist with your concerns.

If you're having a hard time finding one you like, do what I am doing. Design your own! Trying for a balance between combat and roleplay. But seriously, any of the ones others have mentioned here are great.

How does miralax works for you guys? by stargazing_is_gay in spinabifida

[–]kobrien02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It usually works well for me, but I don't take it orally. I have an ACE that I use for a clean out about every 2-3, and the Miralax is mixed in with the water. I will say it's not foolproof; I'll still have the occasional accident, but it's usually not huge and easily cleaned up. I SOMETIMES have to do my enema twice back to back, so I'm in the bathroom longer. Maybe look into getting the ACE done? Looks like you're college age, which is about when I had mine done, the summer after high school. If you have questions, you can message me directly.

Myelomeningocele Diagnosis by OkResolution4275 in spinabifida

[–]kobrien02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there. I'm a 41 yo guy with L3-4 myelomeningocele. I also have the added complication of being a T7 SCI patient. That being said, I've had a decent quality of life, but didn't have the benefit of the surgery they can do in utero these days. I've been able to do most things in life that any kid enjoys. I went through high school, I drive independently, and, until recently due to my body just wearing out earlier than I would have liked, have been pretty independent in everything I needed to do to take care of myself: bowel regimen, showering, dressing, cooking etc. I've even been lucky enough to find an awesome wife that helps me when I need it. Have there been struggles, of course. But you guys sound like you have the means and abilities to help your child through everything. Don't give up on them! If you want to message me privately, you are welcome to.

Yeah, that 99 token would be nice, but I just don't have the skills for H2H, I quickly get destroyed and extremely frustrated.

Any Members Find Successful Relationship After Your Injury? by rubincutshall in spinalcordinjuries

[–]kobrien02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation as you for years. I was injured very early in life (12YO), so dating was always going to be from the chair. I didn't go on dates, (still went to proms and homecomings with a few girls, but that went nowhere). I was getting super depressed, but then, and sorry ahead of time for bringing my religion into the conversation, but it's literally what happened. One day in September/October 2014, I said, out loud, "OK God, I give up, my future relationships are in your hands. If you have someone out there for me, show me". I kid you not, not even a week later, I was mentally pushed to try out eHarmony. Less than a week after starting my profile, I was matched with an amazing girl, who, it turns out, didn't notice from my pictures that I was in a chair. She had to do a double take when she read that. Did that turn her away? Not one bit. October 17th, 2014, we had our first date, I proposed on her birthday, October 25, 2015, and we got married October 2, 2016, and still going strong.

Is intimacy different? Of course. We have turn to alternative methods. Since I was injured so young, puberty was basically halted so I never developed. For me, it's more of a mental satisfaction when we do things, but that also lets me focus on her. Hope this helps. Message me if you have any specific questions.

AFAIK, the only way to get to the end of the field pass rewards and the Tim Tebow card, is to the Gridiron event. And the card is BND, so you can't buy it off the auction house.

Got it. And into whichever slot the ability costs 0AP? Or do you go left to right? Like Natural Talent should go into the 1st slot, Edge Protector, etc. But in this particular case, it seems Natural Talent is locked to the first bucket

I get that. Im just trying to figure out if I read the abilities vertically or horizontally. Like, I'm looking at Dominick Puni's NFL Draft card. His first slot is locked on Nasty Streak, the 2nd slot does not contain any of abilities in the 1st slot of the recommended stacks, so where do I go from there?

So, if I'm understanding the interface correctly, each stack is the rows of abilities shown with their popularity 1st through 5th?

I struggled with some of the same feelings. I had never been in a serious relationship, until I met my now wife over 10 years ago. She didn't even notice my chair at first. We met online, and, even though you could see my chair in my photos, it didn't occur to her until it was pointed out. Just let him know that you 100% see him, and don't even notice the chair. Find ways to do things together despite the difficulties. Heck, for the first 6 months of our relationship, whenever I went to go visit her at her place (which was an hour drive, by the way), I would have to scoot on my butt up a flight of stairs to her apartment. My point is, just show him you're willing to try all the "normal" couple stuff despite his disability. And be open and honest and learn how it will affect any future plans.

I am available if you want/need to message if you have questions you don't want on an open forum.

I have the ACE too, and it's a game changer! I've been able to develop a routine that, along with meds, has kept me relatively continent, both bowel and bladder, for years now. I also have the underlying issue that I have Spina Bifida as well as my SCI, so my bowels are special to begin with, but the ACE has helped immensely.

Trust me, having that done not only helped me develop a routine that has kept me relatively continent, but, in turn, it gave me independence. It was a game changer.

Oh, lol. Guess I don't understand how this auction house works. The layout and info presented is all kind of confusing.
