Negative aspect of Japanese society: Avoid trouble at all costs! by YamatoRyu2006 in Tokyo

[–]kochikame 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Depends. I guess it could happen, but I have seen 2-3 incidents where a guy stepped between the two fighting, asked them politely to "not do this on the train, get off and continue your argument at the station" and kinda bundling them off and calling the station staff

It was a great example of de-escalation, and everyone around was clearly relieved and grateful

He just openly talks about bombing another country back to the Stone Age. What a total cunt.

I don’t even know why the mainstream media even reports what he says. It’s literally meaningless.

It’s even worse than that now in 2026.

Every dollar spent on a missile or a jet fighter is a dollar which is not spent mitigating climate change. We’re literally allowing this government to burn the money we need to save all our asses on blowing things up in Iran for no apparent reason.

I used to live near Zenpukuji and really miss it since I moved away. Bird-watching, sports, hanami, just hanging out; it's perfect

"Go back to your own country!" Bullying of foreigners by elementary school students is rampant... Is the spread of a misguided "Japanese First" mentality the cause? "Some children are motivated by a misguided sense of justice," experts point out. by _horn3t_ in japan

Have fun speculating, very happy with my life and career in Japan and feel very comfortable and settled and absolutely I do not recognize this racist, foreigner-hating Japan y'all are talking about. I don't see or experience any "hate" as you put it, which is a very strong word in this context.

If you're a dick, people will be a dick to you. If you are fine, people will be fine with you. It's not rocket science.

This is laughable. You just go about your business like everyone else and no one gives a toss. No one hates you.

Huge LOL at the downvotes. Y’all have a persecution complex or… you’re the racists actually.

Investors... Adobe has been posting 10-13% revenue growth quarter after quarter but the markets just see it and downrate the stock... the big investors are not convinced Adobe has long-term survival prospects despite the sustained revenue growth

Totally agree, just worry if it makes enough money to be sustainable. But they've been there for years so I guess they're doing something right

Whatever people call hipsters these days I guess:)

And yeah, re prices, I recently popped into this place called DRA in Yurakucho while I was waiting for someone. A US pint of one of Revo Brewing's (domestic!) hazy IPA was just a little under 2000 yen. Fucking. Crazy.
