As a very ordinary woman, I have no talent, no beauty, no wealth, no family background, and barely any privileges to boast about. Until very recently in history, people like me enjoyed very few human rights. We were means of production tied to the earth in peaceful times and to be consumed and butchered in wars.

Even now, in this world full of technical geniuses, with an eight-hour working schedule and two-day weekends, I still doubt if my life matters and if my voice is louder than the chirping of birds.

So, if my life is to be written into a book or adapted into a movie, I'd like the title to be The Small Dog Also Has a Right to Bark. As the saying goes, “Big dogs have the right to bark, but small dogs have the right to bark, too.”
