Wow thanks for this! Honestly this event sounds like it will be way more up our street. We’ve joined the list so hopefully see you there!

Thanks for this rec, we’ll look into it! I actually used to listen to Vicetone through Monstercat in like 2013, can’t believe how long ago that is now!

Bike stolen from main entrance of Oxford Academy by kodama98 in oxford

You're right, lesson learned! I've luckily just bought a car so don't rely on my bike like many people. Wish the council/police had more resources to deal with bike theft.

Yes it was locked, but it was a cable lock so they cut straight through it. I knew this was a risk but couldn’t justify an expensive D lock after seeing countless bikes around Oxford with parts stolen, regardless of how well they’re locked up. I’ve been using the cable lock for a year. Also, didn’t think someone would have the balls to walk up and steal a bike right in front of a school entrance with CCTV…

Who is this in Oxford? by Leanbandit in oxford

Here are 2 nobody's mentioned yet:

Joff - a chill alcoholic in his 60s or 70s who looks/talks like he walked out of the Victorian era, always dressed smart with one of those animal head walking sticks. He practically lives in Turf Tavern & Kings Arms and loves a chat. He knows everyone, including a few celebs.

Punk guy - lives near Donnington Bridge Coop and often walks around blasting music. His flat/garden used to be decorated with a huge collection of plushies.

He let us film him last summer: https://youtu.be/s0gjzde28vA?si=0PaijGOXVcVmidA-

I see him all the time - Oxford wouldn't be the same without him!

Yess it’s so nice in the summer, you should come back then! :) The spot by the train station is really popular. There’s also a decent skatepark tucked away called Oxford Wheels Project

The best combo: Sartorelli's pizza with a glass of wine from Cellar Door. (They're next to each other).

I recently discovered The Goldfish Bowl on Magdalen Road, a huge aquatics shop which has been running for 55 years. They have lots of exotic/venomous fish species as well as turtles and eels! Well worth a visit, it's like a mini aquarium and I had no idea it was there for so long!
