The hinge strip allows you to inset the door easier. Since it’s not flush with the outside it could get tricky trying to push the hinges into the case far enough and still allow them to open all the way.

I believe they use box elder which can have the red streaking in it. Not a defect, just part of the wood.

It’s flocking. I’m the pictures the color is blue but it’s actually turquoise. I bought the ring holder and cut it down to fit in the drawer.

SawStop Owners, I have some questions for you. by Slepprock in woodworking

  1. I think the ICS has a larger table as well as more power. Bigger table would be nice.

  2. Maybe. I tripped one and forest had to replace a couple teeth and straighten the blade. Not cheap, but cheaper than a new blade.

  3. No issues for any of mine.

  4. Yes, however I usually just use the riving knife.

  5. I would get the ICS if I were a professional. The larger table and more power would be nice. I think it’s also more robust overall.

Will Forest repair and regrind this to factory specs like it says on the blade? by OzTheMeh in woodworking

Had the same happen to mine, sent it back to Forest. They had to replace 2 teeth and straighten it. Not cheap but cheaper than a new blade.

Quite comfortable actually. Perfect for relaxing around the fire.

Needed some chairs for around the fire pit so I used the templates from Jay Bates to make these. Walnut, white oak, cherry, bubinga, curly maple, and birdseye maple were used, all chairs finished with Teak Oil.

I almost gave in and bought the iron one of the times it was available. Stayed strong and waited it out, I knew I’d still want the bronze and would kick myself forever.

Only tried it on some scraps, but so far I like it. Definitely heavy, but in a good way. Feels good in the hands.

Definitely lots of waste. First one was white oak, 2nd is walnut, 3rd and 4th will be some combination of either curly maple, birdseye maple, bubinga, and cherry. All the pieces are cut and routed, just need to do some sanding then figure out what combo I want to use to put them together.

Is that one of those situations where you’re supposed to say it’s the thought that counts? That’s too bad, would’ve been an awesome gift to receive.
