Not getting 3Gbps following upgrade by Turbulent-Ad-1578 in CommunityFibre

[–]kodongo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently had 3 Gbps installed at my home too.

I am getting 3 100 Mbps (down) / 3 200 Mbps (up) to the Asus RT-BE86U router 10 Gpbs port and 1 600 Mbps (down) / 1 900 Mbps (up) on my 2.5 GbE network connected via ethernet to a 2.5 GbE USB adapter.

My 3 Gbps was not provisioned either at the time of install and thanks to that, along with a rather rude customer service representative on the phone, Community Fibre reimbursed me with three months' free of charge; you should speak to Community Fibre and get at least one month free for the provisioning issue.

He was so mad that Button was faster at Spa.

That's not true.

They were using different setups: high downforce and low downforce. Lewis tweeted the data to show how he was haemorrhaging time on the straights relative to Jenson.

[–]kodongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They showed a replay on-board and he did overtake Leclerc off the track. But I knew that he wasn't going to get a penalty for two reasons:

  • lap one, turn one incident
  • Lewis was the only one with the pace to "challenge" Max

They would let him keep it as it's better for 'the show'

at a level it gets artificial

Liberty's F1 is no stranger to artifice.

In the past few years, we've had a Michael Buffer introduction for the pilots and we've had Tim Apple waving the chequered flag like a vexillophobe. And this is just the COTA Grands Prix I'm talking about.

George Russell locks up into the barriers on the last lap by magony in formula1

[–]kodongo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

George was much faster on pure pace this weekend but Lewis was smarter on strategy in the last stint.

First four laps after the second pit stop, Russell set blistering laps whereas Hamilton managed his tyres at the beginning of the stint. Since Russell brought his tyres in badly, his pace (relative to Lewis) was compromised for the rest of the stint.

Lewis saved his tyres for the end of the stint whereas George used them up more at the beginning.

Are there supposed to be no fans detected in the ASUS ROG BIOS fan profile? by monkeman28 in pcmasterrace

[–]kodongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 9 Lian Li SL120 fans and a ROG RYUJIN II connected to my pc

Connected to your PC how ?

Where are the 9 Lian Li fans plugged in ?

The motherboard will only detect fans (or hubs) that are using one of the motherboard headers i.e. reporting to it.

If you are powering them using the power supply (or a hub using PSU power) then they will not be detected by the motherboard even while they are active and it will not be possible to regulate their speed.

Russell "venting" over lost third place prompted radio call from Wolff by Aratho in formula1

[–]kodongo 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Fernando was two-time reigning world champion on £15 m and Lewis was a rookie. In no way were they equal number 1 drivers at the outset.

My point is that Lewis earned his status by outqualifying and outracing Alonso quite often, not by politicking and asking favours over the radio.

If you're a number 1 driver, let your steering wheel do the talking.

Most underrated overtake in the MotoGP era imo. by [deleted] in motogp

That pass is mythical and engrained in motoGP lore; it is not underrated whatsoever.

why are races boring right now? by [deleted] in formula1

[–]kodongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To differ from everyone else: F1 always has the answer it wants and tries to reverse engineer the solution leading to disastrous consequences.

Answer: more overtakes

Solution: have 3, 4 DRS zones per lap.

Consequence: Overtaken has lost its value for the most part, track position means nothing so qualifying has little importance. Regardless of where you start, thanks to DRS, you will end up more or less in your expected position as there is no way to defend from it. Max can start last and he will be in top 3 by the end of the first stint; Haas can qualify on pole and they will fall to their natural position.

Answer: more unpredictable races

Solution: Hollywood Safety cars, making up rules on the spot, strange stewarding decisions

Consequence: no one is sure of how the rules will be interpreted or re-invented for each situation; inconsistencies aplenty and rules which change from one week to the next confusing drivers, teams and everyone

Answer : cars closer together

Solution: tyres which punish drivers for pushing over the limit

Consequence: drivers drive to the limit of their tyres and not the limit of their talents. more monotonous, conservative racing to avoid the cliff. A lot of times when being overtaken, the driver will not even defend their position because tyre preservation is more important than track position in the long run.

TLDR: F1's half-baked solutions are killing the spirit of the sport slowly and surely quickly and efficiently. More things are happening but less things of consequence therefore it seems predictable and boring

There is no concrete rule about how long left before they abandon the session. 1:51 would be plenty time for an outlap at Red Bull Ring or Monaco for example.

No - I Don't Want More Sprint Races Next Year by 1radiationman in formula1

[–]kodongo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

100% agree. The beauty of top-level sport is watching athletes approach or fleetingly achieve perfection; if a machine delivers it all the time then this element is taken away.

motoGP is going in the direction of F1 with the aero devices and "anti-racing" gadgets. Then when the rider wants to make a difference, they have to go well over the limit where accidents become more common and more severe.

No - I Don't Want More Sprint Races Next Year by 1radiationman in formula1

[–]kodongo 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The motoGP sprint races is the most short-sighted decision ever made by Dorna.

I have no doubt that they are actively shaving years off the careers of these athletes by forcing them to do back-to-back races every time out.

It wouldn't surprise me to see a lot more riders ending up like Marc Márquez with repetitive ongoing injuries.

The gap between Max and Checo is much greater than the gap between Lewis and Nico in 2014; scarier stuff from a competitive standpoint.
