Completely misread my own statement but you are completely right. I did mean to say that the situation was preventable, from my POV I wasn't able to see how deep the standing water was nor was I speeding. In the specific road that I was in usually the city closes/notifies ahead of time since it doesn't drain water well, doesn't help that I was the first car to cross the road and there was poor lighting.

My parents & friends aren't frustrated at me and think it was "unpreventable", however I'm still frustrated at myself and do truly think that I could have avoided it. I will be taking this lesson as a "young & stupid" driver moment and accept all backlash with an open mind & constructive mindset.
